Ok, I personally think that in hard mode, super charged creepers should be more common. I have been playing for over a year for hours on end, and never seen one. It would add a sense of challenge. Note that I said "hard" mode and not normal and easy and peaceful, and I'll tell you why. There are people out there who say "I would hate an extra challenge" Well, those people aren't running around on hard. I thought of this because while doing my previous suggestion I noticed that over half of Minecraft players love the sense of challenge. I wanna add a new challenge... dealing with super powered creepers. Im not even saying make it common. I just want it to be common enough so that we can see it more than once every two years. Agree? Then vote yes and tell your friends. Disagree? Vote no and tell me, I won't be offended by your opinion.
hard should be harder. I Strongly support making hard mode harder. The difficulties should have more distance between eachother. Right now, Easy, Normal, and Hard are barely any different. A minecraft pro can easily pwn hard mode.
The thing is, Supercharged Creepers only appear when a Creeper is struck by lightning. They don't just spawn supercharged. That kinda makes that element of the game pointless in hardmode.
Now, Hardcore mode might be more suited to this kind of thing.
Powering up creepers only gets annoying because it becomes a lot of land griefing. Never add something that's 'powerful' and 'low spawn rate' and expect it to be a challenge. Something is only a challenge if it is challenging yet you see it often, it would be more of a surprise. I would vote for potion effects on creepers that sometimes makes them invisible or something of the sort.
Also, it's only a small part of the community that likes challenges since a large portion is toddlers and moms.
This would accept the balance of mob skull drops. These items must remain rare, as that is what makes them special.
Besides, that's not how charged creeper spawning works. They spawn from being struck by lightning, so I assume you would want to increase the lightning strike rate.
If so, why not? General increasing of lightning striking on the ground rate depending on difficulty is quite nice, this still would barely touch on the aspect of charged creeper spawning.

Good point, but perhaps mob heads would be the reward increases to balance the challenge increases? And besides, what is there to do with a mob head?

They can be spawned via: "/summon Creeper ~ ~ ~ {powered:1}", so I'm sure they could in game without increasing the lighting and/or making lighting target creepers. But it would be cool if lightning targeted Creepers on Hard / Hardcore mode if that was the case.

How about increasing the difficulty increases chances of lightning hitting entities ( including pigs , creepers , all mobs , all farm animals and players , and even item frames ) ? That way we don't change charged creeper spawning conditions ?
Being a nerd is nothing to be ashamed of. Nerds rule the world! Who invented the internet? Nerds. Who created personal computers and smart phones? Nerds. Who made every video game you've ever played and ever will? Still nerds. Who sent probes to distant planets? Nerds, nerds and more nerds! I'm a nerd and I'm proud.

Well, actually, "those who like a challenge," In My humble Opinion, always changes, if only slightly. That said, to me, the more-annoying kind of "land griefing" is endless random blocks removed, of the lightning strike, itself (aren't they like this?), and a regular Creeper on Hard mode is always gonna knock-out the landscape, regardless.
It's surprising, currently, I agree, and Yes, I Have seen - One - sometime closer to the release of 1.0 (so when I started almost 3 years ago from now). It was worth it (or was it just on YouTube? ah well) - Then. Now, even on Hard mode a Creeper is frequently lethal, if point-blank and wearing "only" Iron Armor, so HardCore doesn't need the further.. explosiveness to "further" justify an already deadly-death. Remember, a Charged Creeper is Already more powerful than fully-lethal TNT, got it?
I don't support that powered creepers spawn cuz i like the way they have to get struck by lightning but i would love to see another way to get them powered .

Support.
Since we can just switch into Creative and add Heads as an item, force Lightning to strike (perhaps even target it), and otherwise Spawn them as Charged Creepers, to say that we should use all these methods in Vanilla mode(s I know, even Creative has its own "Vanilla," basically, as I just described) avoids the potential issue, which is mainly changes to Vanilla (pre-dominantly for the sake of discussion, non-Creative, then-Survival) mode(s).
Good point, but perhaps mob heads would be the reward increases to balance the challenge increases? And besides, what is there to do with a mob head?
They can be
Agreed
Yeah, they're the reward.. and certainly not of infinite waiting for Lightning storms to first appear and then rarely strike nearby. Hopefully.
Oh yeah, and re-decorate with de-capitated items? Oh, right and make Banners, now (multiple uses means it's a good idea to consider another and /or increase the availability of a certain source).
I kind of wonder if Players' Avatar, Heads are usable to put-onto Banners. That could get pretty interesting, faces on flags.

Ooh, this one Should make things more Difficult, no matter how you look at it - and sure I wouldn't want to look at my item frames falling -off the walls, but heck, I've already started to make basement art pieces - for just that little bit extra of protection
Hitting the Player though is a slightly-different matter, and would force us to make our Avatars consume extra to keep health up above some new minimum (which previously was, I dunno, a Skeleton's Arrow or somesuch? a sudden drop of 4 blocks??).
I was thinking a lightning hitting redstone stuff will have more chances to strike on that blocks .
This is my favorite idea: a lightning rod; is basically the idea. Not only would certain places encourage lightning strikes, but they might even decrease-slightly hit rates at surrounding sites (though that latter part of the idea would needlessly clutter the skyline with "lightning rods," a la any "urban" area with electronic crap, which makes them look more like a spaceship or even satellite than anything else).
It could be used to make "lightning round" arenas, and otherwise games of "dodge the lightning" (you might not be able to dodge). When-combined with Creepers, Pigs, or stray Villagers, it could be their Charged Creeper, Zombie Pig (without Sword in-hand), and /or Witch equivalent, of basically Hostile-r, Mob Olympics.

The thing about that is that I specifically said only in Hard mode, because toddlers and other people that hate difficulty aren't gonna be on Hard Mode.
I like how once there is a reason to get charged creepers, everyone wants an easier way to get them. Just make a farm like sethbling or go hunting like GenerikB

Constantly evolving, reaching further heights.
