Mob name: Ghoul Mob Class: Hostile/Neutral Mob Health: 20 Hearts Mob Environment (where it spawns): Grass, nighttime Mob Desc: The ghoul is much like the zombie in that it is a relatively easy mob. It has the same damage per hit, but slower. The Ghoul is extremely slow, and the player can easily outrun it. To balance this the Ghoul has 20 hp worth of life (or death?) and spawns more frequently outside then the zombie. It also does not burn in the sunlight, but dies upon touching water.
Its body was warped, it shambled towards me, and even after being slashed at a multitude of time by my sword it was only barely injured. The smell of decaying flesh was horrible, I felt about to vomit. Oh someone help me...
And thank you Orion-Pyro for making this epic sig addition!
it drops awesomeness!!!!
jk, but in all seriousness, maybe :Portabella:? kinda makes sense if u think about it, or maybe so that its worth all the effort? love the idea though

Mushroom would make sense, or maybe a wooden sword?
I'm going to have to support the drowning rather than burning on the contact with water, aren't Ghouls humans who have gone crazy and taken to eating the flesh of corpses?
One thing, one HP counts as 1/2 of a heart. So technically, zombies have the same health. A diamond sword deals 10 damage or 5 hearts. So that scould mean it scould have 40 health. But anyway, other than that, sure, i wouldnt mine if it were added. Cool picture too.
Pretty cool mob! But if it's so slow, it wouldn't be so much danger as long as you're not trapped somewhere helplessly. Maybe give it some kind of skill or power? Spawn zombies? Spawn a fog around it so you get lost and it can get to you?
I really like this idea, and I don't quite think they need anything extra to be good. They're pretty well thought out and I like the idea of above-ground only. Like, have them spawn only on grass blocks (much like current animal mobs) at nighttime.
I also like the idea of them being kinda tank-like in the sense they are very strong and very slow.
Only question: What kind of sounds would they make?

Dude... it should drop a new item... something interesting and useful. I suggest blood.
Blood could be used for two things: Another dye for cloth and an ingredient used for making mob spawners.
Mob spawner recipe:
Red cloth block represents a drop of blood.
Or how about we get creative and create something that doesn't already exist?
I mean come on people. The game has 4 hostile mobs that you run into normally. What are the chances that you land on one of those 4 when you set the brain train to full speed and try to think of something new?
How about a giant bees that shoot stingers at people who come near and they live in big colonies of giant bees that are hard to get into because they house so many bees and spawn more but if you manage to break into it. Deep inside you find a rare honey resource that is then used to make a variety of foods or a throwable sticky weapon that temporarily traps mobs in a 3x3 pile of stickyness. These hives would remain active until the queen is killed after which bees would stop spawning and the existing bees would die off a few minutes afterwards.
Or how about 2 kinds of burrowing worms.
One is 3x3 wide and neutral. Digs around underground and leaves tunnels. It has a lot of health and is hard to kill but wont attack on sight. When killed it drops different ores, dirt, coal and stone that it consumed while digging through the ground-
The other worm would be 1x1 in width and hostile if encountered. it also drops ores and resources when killed but has less health than the other worm.
How about some freakish, completely out of context alien thingy that injects neutral critters with an unknown virus that makes them mutate. Changing their color and turning them hostile. That way when you run into hostile green/purple critters then you know a mutator is nearby, The mutator would also corrupt the area nearby. Killing the grass and leaving black dirt instead. Most of the leaves would fall off the trees. The wood would turn dark and the remaining leaves would turn black. This area of corruption would start at the mutator and slowly grow outward from it. Infecting critters that step on the ground. The dark ground that spreads from the mutator would have random skulls and bones spread over it (for looks only, not lootable)
This ground would have a max range of say.... 300 blocks out from the mutator and once it has been killed the area slowly returns to normal.
Or how about giant ant colonies found underground. Themed around the bee hives but with walking mobs. They would contain various resources unique to them and this would be a realistic risk that miners would accidentally dig into one of these. After the queen has been killed the ant colony would then slowly die off. Inside the ant colony would also be various ores that where exposed during their work but the ants ignored them and just dug away the dirt around the ores.
How about neutral walking mushroom mobs that sleep at night. They would have a close range spore attack that would daze and slow the player and when killed they would drop a mixed combination of the existing in game mushrooms. (Seeing as mushrooms are rare as hell anyway)
Being creative is not that hard and I'm a seriously uncreative person who wasn't even trying that hard.
It's common knowledge that nothing is original. You can think of anything, and to some point it is "borrowed'. The idea that mobs drop items at all is unoriginal. My point is, it's all relative. So before you say something is unoriginal, realize nothing is original. I could point out everything in your examples on how they are unoriginal, but that doesn't really pertain to this topic. IF you would want me to, I'd happily to do it in PM :smile.gif:
As for the this mob, good job and keep up the good work!
The point is that this mob already exists in the game. When they wanted to describe its features they could barely do anything there either.... Uhhhh like a zombie but.... slower... and has more health! and like.... taller (good job. Lets see how threatening it is when it doesn't fit in a doorway)
I mean what's next?
skeleton crossbow man?
How about a Tarantula mob and then a black widow mob followed by wild boar critters, lambs, ducks and geese.
I'm surprised they even went so far as to make a model for this mob.
This is why Mojang doesn't read these forums. If they want something for the game then their only alternative is to make it on their own because lord knows the community wont be of any use other than for finding bugs.
Just because Futil didn't suggest a goomba or giant enemy ant doesn't mean it's not original. Take a look at his other suggestions, dumbass. Just because it's undead doesn't mean it's a lame zombie edit, it has some special properties such as only dying in water. (What's that?! Strategy?! NOOO I enjoy repeatedly spamming the sword and knocking everything back five feet!!) I'd certainly rather see a couple of these along with some zombies instead of only zombies outside my house. You obviously seem to have a problem with variety, as stated with the "black widow, ducks..."

The ghouls in fallout are nothing like the semi-dead (and sometimes dead) creatures in mythology. I get what your saying though.
