In spring, flowers will pop up in the world randomly according to their respective biome, though not too commonly so it wont lag
Bonemeal will grow more flowers than usual
Oak trees will have higher chance to drop apples
All plants grow a bit faster than usual
It rains and snows normally
Summer: lasts 4 months (4 minecraft moon cycles, meaning 32 in game days)
It rains VERY rarely.
In cold biomes, it rains instead of snowing.
Ice and snow are melting even in cold biomes
In hot biomes, desert/savanna/mesa, there is a rare chance for a fire to ignite flamable materials spontaneously out of the sheer heat. may cause wildfires in savanna.
Fall: lasts 2 months (2 minecraft moon cycles, meaning 16 in game days)
Leaves of trees turn to Brown, Yellow, or Orange. each tree gets a random diffrent color. effects only leaves that are attached to a tree.
When you break it with sheers, you get leaves in that color.
It rains and snows normally
Winter: lasts 4 months (4 minecraft moon cycles, meaning 32 in game days)
Rain occurs VERY often.
The rate of lightning storms becomes 5 times more often
It may snow and freeze water, very rarely, in normal biomes.
it may snow and freeze water, very rarely, in any height in cold biomes
This way we will have a minecraft year, it will make the game so much more interesting.
Good idea but it hapens that this has been suggested before.
I know, i also read that mojang has plans to add seasons to the game in the future.
This suggestion is mainly focused on how the seasons should be in my opinion, in case they will be added, and on how they will be based on the moon cycles.
What about jungles? Raining rarely in the summer doesnt make sense. That would be the wettest time.
What about tundra? They are perpetually snowy.
The biomes don't make sense with a season system. And currently, when it rains in one part of the world it rains/snows in all parts of the (loaded) world. To add seasons, they would need to have something to track what weather to do in each biome in order to make sense, but I don't think that is exactly easy to do.
Why? i think it will add another dimension to the gameplay, making things more interesting.
Instead of every-day in minecraft being the same, adding seasons will add alot of variety and enhance the experience of playing minecraft

So in time, the entire ground will be covered with flowers? This might work if flowers had 'roots' in the ground that was shown with a special grass block which would sprout flowers there only.
Bonemeal will grow more flowers than usual
I suppose this would work
Oak trees will have higher chance to drop apples
Shouldn't this be in autumn?
All plants grow a bit faster than usual
That would be nice.
It rains and snows normally
Summer: lasts 4 months (4 minecraft moon cycles, meaning 32 in game days) Why so long? Shouldn't it be the same as every other season?
It rains VERY rarely.
Makes sense somewhat. Although some climate's summers are very rainy.
In cold biomes, it rains instead of snowing.
Nice idea.
Ice and snow are melting even in cold biomes
Sure. Although wouldn't it just be a matter of making biomes all hotter?
In hot biomes, desert/savanna/mesa, there is a rare chance for a fire to ignite flamable materials spontaneously out of the sheer heat. may cause wildfires in savanna.
This would be a real pain. Please don't.

I guess so.
When you break it with sheers, you get leaves in that color.
Um... sure.
It rains and snows normally
Surely it ought to be slightly drier?
Winter: lasts 4 months (4 minecraft moon cycles, meaning 32 in game days) Again, why the extended season?
Rain occurs VERY often.
Why? Winter is generally seen as a 'snow/rain at night'; 'clear skies at day' type of season.
The rate of lightning storms becomes 5 times more often
Again, slightly odd but realistic none-the-less.
It may snow and freeze water, very rarely, in normal biomes.
Sure.
it may snow and freeze water, very rarely, in any height in cold biomes
I was under the impression water already froze in cold biomes.

Whilst the idea isn't terrible, there needs to be some changes. The first is: If you have seasons, then you ought to have crops maturing slower. That means apples should be harvested at around autumn time (fall), wheat similarily, carrots in summer, et cetera. Then, crops ought to have a 'preferred' temperature. Should the crop be planted in the wrong time, they may grow very slowly.
If you intend on having trees change colour, then you should implement branch blocks too for winter. After they change colour, in winter they'll turn into bare branches.
And lastly, flowers. I'd suggest flowers automatically turn the dirt or grass block below them into a 'Root filled' dirt or grass block. That way, the flowers can die back in winter and all root blocks will then grow again in the spring.

Partial Support.
Summer and Winter are naturally longer than spring and autumn in real life, thats why they are longer.
Also, where i live, it rains almost exclusively in winters....
Also, water freeze in any height only in Snowy biomes. at cold biomes (like extreme hills) it snows and freeze only above certain heights.

The idea is somewhat time-realistic, but i don't see you judged him well, for example he said that flowers will pop uncommonly, but you didn't pay attention.
also bashing a suggestion cause " there is a mod " is just bad.
plain bad.
don't do it.
HE EVEN SAID WHY CAN'T WE HAVE SEASONS IN MINECRAFT
I don't know why but I just get the feeling that there are to much old skool Minecrafters that don't want any change or what.
If you like it or not I Support this suggestion to prove you wrong.
Support.
The low amount of sense you're making. Supporting a suggestion doesn't... prove anyone wrong? Seasons are already an idea Mojang considered. Redundancy doesn't mean "no minecraft is not ment 4 seasons leave the game alone!!!"
Two posts in a row that respond to me completely missing the context of what I actually said.

This is a pretty good idea, but the seasons don't mix with the biomes. If biomes were removed then I guess this is ok, but removing biomes would ruin Minecraft. I do like how you listed what each season would change.
My Avatar is a Dalek, therefor your argument is... EXTERMINATED!!!
You know who can tell me something I already know? Me. All the time. I'm really good at telling me stuff I already know. I don't need help in that department. I don't know about others, but I can't imagine I'm alone here.

Cast aside your festive doylaks: dragon stuff is about to happen.
Multiplayer is lonely once you understand how it actually works.

Besides guys, at least he provided detail so it's not exactly like others's suggestions.

I think seasons would be great.
this need reworking, and personally, i don't want seasons in my minecraft
1- Finish the mod API
2- Give brains to villagers (make em more usefull)
3- Add ambiance: birds, fishes, bugs, crabs on beaches, monkeys in jungles...
4- More plants! Aquatic, any fruit tree, bushes....
5- Ambiant sounds!
