Okay, it's subjective, but even then it's very easy to see that a name is more "cheesy" than others. Dark Platinum is just a really bad name. I don't even understand why it would have the label of "Platinum" at all when it's found in a completely strange and foreign dimension. Endanite is cheesy too, but so is taking an earthly element and calling it "dark".
The reason why The enchantments Go for Gold and D.Platinum Is that well, No Matter How many enchantments Go to Gold It Would Never Compare to Iron let alone Diamond. Thats an exaggeration but Gold Is very well Known to Be a Magical Ore and In terms Of enchanting level its Still Higher then D.Platinum so it would be dumb to not have it.
You make a good point on the gold part, a very good point, but that still doesn't give the ultimate go-ahead to slap another ore in the game. To have new enchantments, we don't need another type of metal. Yes, enchantments being exclusive to your dark platinum does help in people wanting it, but even then, those enchantments are still a random luck-of-the-draw - knowing how the enchantment system works.
No matter what Like someone said everyone going to go for the better alternative if everything else is not effective enough. I can say that a Enchanted D.Platinum sword is More effective then Iron sword correct? But at that Point its On what enchants you receive that its better or worst then Diamond.

I could go "I suggest silver ore, it's stronger than dark platinum but weaker than diamond. A silver sword is more effective than a dark platinum one right, even more so if you get the 'Lethal' or 'Freeze' that's exclusive to it." Venom is For D.platinum sword only, why would a Bow get it when i said D.P and Gold only get it? Venom in nature is not just something that Destroys Its paralyzes the Body, But a Poison Blade is out matched By Fire so Toxin Paralysis is better.

"Toxin Paralysis" makes more sense, but could also be confusing to some, as some may think "Ooh, I bet this poisons and/or completely paralyses people." Maybe "Exhaust" could work better there, I don't know.

Basically Put, I should make a note of this later but try seeing D.Platinum as an alternative rather then a tier. In some cases, its no better then iron. but given the upcoming enchanting system and it being easier to get what ever enchant you want D.Platinum in most cases rival if not be better then diamond. given its exclusive abilities its like a Wild card rather then "Its just better or worst".

Even though Mojang mentioned no new tiers and no new ores (I think they mentioned the latter, not sure), an ore in The End wouldn't be horrible. I don't see why it would, The End is very bland and adding one new original resource shouldn't kill anyone. Repelling Endermen is still something I want in this suggestion.

i get what Your saying, id really say i don't feel the cheap in terms of exclusiveness as minecraft has a bare bones minimum so there not much room for addition without it being "Redundant" so i don't really feel it if an ore had something exclusive is all that bad.

i get that, i really do but if we do have things that are just recolors or something that feels just slapped in with some new features if it add something diffrent. the same goes for wither skeletons we could have something else to introduce the wither but we dont they coded it in so its not really about how much of a hassle it is rather then what they want and don't want.

Yeah, Nether Quartz is a rather crappy name. Sadly, I'd still put "Dark Platinum" to be below that. It's not always a good habit of using the excuse of "well this thing already in the game is like this, so my thing would be ok too." Even in a state of pure optimism, I can't see the name of Dark Platinum working. For The End at least.
