So i got this really cool idea, and you know how you can trade with Villagers? Well I got the idea that, since they would be 'carrying' the items to trade with, when you kill that particular villager, he/she/it drops the items it was selling. Good idea huh? Please leave comments!

Also, it is a horrible idea. If this was the case then there would be no point in wasting your emeralds or items when you could just kill them for it, then breed more. That is the most overpowered mob farm in the history of Minecraft.

I'm sorry sir but I don't think it'll be good either. Why do we need emeralds then? If we can kill villagers for stuffs they sell, why do we need emeralds? 1 emerald for 18 wheat, kill it; 9 iron ingots for 2 emeralds, kill it as well, then you breed them for more free stuffs! The game will be ruined if players can do that! Then there's no point go chop woods, mine ores, craft stuffs and smelt stuffs! You can get all you need from the villagers! For free!
So sorry but this is really a bad idea. By the way, I suggest you to delete this post if you can to prevent more people saying "it's a joke" or something bad to you.

perhaps it can be an extremely rare drop? Don't feel so bad. People should be a bit nicer rather the just saying its flat out stupid and not giving any way to fix it. It is in the forum rules that you should make people feel welcome rather then raging

Way to OP. What would be the point of trading. I know how to make an infinite villager spawner, and with it I would need to do anything besides murder the villagers for free stuff. A quite terrible idea, no offense OP.

Though this may seem logical, it can be heavily abused via villager breeding, that and it has been suggested before (by me... it failed too) so this is redundant.
Sorry but no support from me. If your idea became reality things would be too easy in Survival and it would really ruin some great challenges such as SuperFlat Survival.

If the villagers dropped what they are selling, that would defeat the purpose of trading. People would just kill the villagers, instead of trading with them. No support.
This would completely defeat the point of Minecraft survival.
Village selling diamonds for 1 emerald? Kill him, kidnap his wife and kids, and burn his house down, rinse and repeat until you've got god tier everything.
And it might even make Mojang consider *shudders* emerald armor and tools.
If a villager farm is all you need to get loads of everything, then n00bs would just kill the villagers instead of EARN diamond everything.

First of all, this is plain stupid. Villagers don't even have hands, and it would be dumb to have a benefit of killing villagers.
I mean, it would make trading useless! Imagine. Never trade again. If a village has something you want, kill him, then get it.

1- Finish the mod API
2- Give brains to villagers (make em more usefull)
3- Add ambiance: birds, fishes, bugs, crabs on beaches, monkeys in jungles...
4- More plants! Aquatic, any fruit tree, bushes....
5- Ambiant sounds!
