So, if anyone can remember, 1.8 was supposed to be the "Adventure Update."
Something particularly annoying is that villagers look like idiots. It doesn't add adventure to the game, it just makes a mockery.
Villages were originally going to have a player model "Pigman" but they added the Squidward People instead. And it seems like Mojang is making a huge joke out of them with adding the annoying sounds.
If villagers had the pigman, and better sounds, it would truly add more adventure to the game.
They shouldn't necessarily be human. They should be pigmen, like originally planned. It would make more sense since there is zombie pigs in the nether, so when the pigmen in the overworld die they go there.
I know all about the Steve Villager mod, but I don't want a mod. I wish that Mojang would make villagers better. It wouldn't
be that hard for them to change them to a player model as a minor change.
They are supposed to be derpy squidwards , not player-like intelligent living creatures , they need big nose and crossed hands to look special and unique , I like them that way , so NO support from me .
Being a nerd is nothing to be ashamed of. Nerds rule the world! Who invented the internet? Nerds. Who created personal computers and smart phones? Nerds. Who made every video game you've ever played and ever will? Still nerds. Who sent probes to distant planets? Nerds, nerds and more nerds! I'm a nerd and I'm proud.
I agree that the villages look a bit derpy and squidwardish and need to be improved, but they definitely shouldn't look like humans. Survival is not supposed to have any other humans in it, you are in the Minecraft world alone. If Mojang wanted humans in the game, they wouldn't have made villagers unique.
Some additional cons:
- What if the player sees one of these in multiplayer, and thinks it is actually an actual player?

What if they were pigment? That would fix both of our problems. They wouldn't be as derpy as they are now, and it would make sense with the actual game.
Villagers are my favorite mob, because of how freaking derpy they are. I like pigs too,and there are pigmen and pigs already.Personaly,I think combining them wouldn't be a good idea, even if it was the origonal one. Pigs and villagers are both loved for being derpy, two in one would be overkill and I rather keep them seperate.
Why not both? And what if the squidwards were mortal enemies with the pigmen? So if you start trading a lot with one type of village the other would start to hate you.
Or another possibility is that pigmen live in the nether and villagers live in the overworld. It would also be cool to see how pigmen would defend against ghasts and their zombified bretheren, if they were to live in the Nether.

Sorry, no. Testificates are very iconic to Minecraft, and there's a lot of stories, fan lore and headcanon based around them. I'd love living pigmen surviving in ruined villages in the Nether, fending off the zombie pigmen and ghasts, but not replacing the current villagers.
Quote from funkyskunk1»That's a genius idea. Sadly, most of the members of the Minecraft forum just want new things added, not really and tweaking and revamping to the stuff we already have.

heh, I think I'll name this closed. I think we can all agree that the community doesn't want to change the villagers.
Thanks for your input.
I don't mind having things changed, but they actually have to be improvements. These pigmen look hideous even compared to our derpy current villagers.
I also don't like the idea of having wars between the squidwards and the pigmen; nor do I support having villages hating you if you don't trade with them. That's just really unfitting, and considering how randomly different villages can be placed, is just a big NO.
This community has supported many suggestions regarding changing an existing aspect, but yours isn't neccesarily an improvement.
I actually like villagers the way they are. A Pigman mob could be a cool separate feature, but I still don't like it when new features try to replace old features when you could have both.

Peter: Yeah, climb any mountain, rent any video, dial any phone. And not just our phone, Lois, other people's phones. Decent phones, God-fearing phones, phones that everybody else gave up on, but we knew better because we were a team!
Brian: What the hell are you talking about?

Please no, pigmen look extremely ugly (even more so than zombie pigmen) and also look worse than current villagers.
Thanks for your input.
