What?
Endomite are like endermite, and silverfish. Endomite have the same mechanics as the previously stated mobs, and do the same amount of damage. Upon inflicting damage to the player, the player is given nausea II. Endomite are tinted green. Upon being slain, endomite drop 0-2 marijuana. Marijuana can be brewed into potions to create a nausia potion.
Where?
Endomite spawn in Oak, and Birch forests.
Why?
Marijuana legalization is a large political issue in our day and age. By adding a feature into their game supporting marijuana, Mojang states their beliefs on the issue of legalization of marijuana.
When?
Marijuana could appear in the snapshot after they have decided they would like to add the Mob and Item.
FAQ:
- This is a childs game! Marijuana has no place here!
* As I have stated above, Marijuana legalization is a large political issue, and if not introduced to it through Minecraft, kids will surely find out about it through their friends, the news, or the adult figures in their life. If we can position Marijuana to have adverse effects on your character, maybe we can position kids to abstain until they are of legal age.
Though you did state that this is a wide legal debate, that's not gonna stop parents from disapproving this. Also this sounds unoriginal and would be weird. Should only be in a mod.

People will drop this idea really fast. Kids play this game, and since when are you sure that Mojang even supports marijuana in the first place?
I personally believe this would belong in a mod. Most parents would probably not approve of children playing something with drugs in it.
By this logic, there shouldn't be 10 year olds playing GTAV. Also, mario is on morning glory and shrooms in most iterations of the original games. The pellets that pac-man eats? They are essentially DMT. The wheat and corn in ActRaiser is essentially Opium. And finally, the potion in SMB2 could double for crack.
Though you did state that this is a wide legal debate, that's not gonna stop parents from disapproving this. Also this sounds unoriginal and would be weird. Should only be in a mod.
This addition would be to help parents in teaching children that drugs are bad, as the only use would be to create nausea potions. Helpful only in a PvP setting.
Being a nerd is nothing to be ashamed of. Nerds rule the world! Who invented the internet? Nerds. Who created personal computers and smart phones? Nerds. Who made every video game you've ever played and ever will? Still nerds. Who sent probes to distant planets? Nerds, nerds and more nerds! I'm a nerd and I'm proud.
So... You're concerned about weed, so Mojang needs to implement a mob that drops marijuana, so they can show they don't like weed?
I see no reason for this mob to exist.
No support.
Exactly this^.
The thing about those games that you stated, (Mario, Pacman) is that the "drug" isn't called a drug. Kids don't focus on this idea that a part of the game they just call a mushroom could be a reference to a drug in real life. They don't think of it as drugs as it isn't stated to be a drug. People make these assumptions that they are drugs, such as you were saying, in Mario and Pacman, but they aren't. Those are just the ideas of the companies that made their own game. "Oh what should we make Pacman eat?" "How about pellets". No child game company purposely puts something that could signify drugs in their game. Nintendo or other game companies, don't see their product's powerup or main eating ingredient (I personally don't know what to call it :P) to be drugs. So why should Mojang? Why should Mojang put a mob in their game to "teach" kids that drugs like marijuana are bad. They shouldn't that's why. Games aren't meant to focus on those topics. That's why we have people who watch over us otherwise known as parents. We need parents to teach us this stuff, not video games. We need parents to teach us that we shouldn't take drugs.

This is a tricky situation. Minecraft Forums doesn't currently have any policy on posting about drugs, as long as it is not encouraging people to partake in illegal activities, which this does not. So what I am going to do is I am going to monitor this thread, and as soon as things get out of hand I will shut it down. But if things go on how they currently are, I'll just be watching this get a long stream of people saying "No support".
Keep it civil people.

I'm trying not to flame, but I don't know what gave you the idea of adding marijuana in a children's game. If I were a parent, I probably wouldn't want my child playing a game with interactive drug brewing.
You raise the question that 10 year olds are playing GTAV, which has drugs, sex, and alcohol in it, but that's not a valid argument because GTAV is not meant for 10 year olds. In my opinion, it is a parent's fault if their child is playing games not meant for their age. Minecraft is oriented toward all ages, and simply because marijuana brews a nausea potion isn't going to teach kids that it's bad. It's going to pique their curiosity and make them want to learn more about it, which can either be for the best or for the worst. Minecraft doesn't have to be a proxy for the DARE program.
I personally do not care about marijuana in any way, however I will never use it. This isn't the same for everyone, there are all sorts of people with different beliefs out there and this will only spark hate from various communities.
Lastly, why an endomite? Not to be a bit too rash, but marijuana is a plant, why does a bug drop it?
Wow... this is...pretty special. So let me get this straight. You want to expose kids to marijuana for the first time via an unrealistic game? Instead of their parents or another reliable source telling them about it, you want them to first see it in a game with 16x16 cartoon textures and have it drop from a bug.
Yeah, that's really going to give kids a good idea about marijuana. And you also want to lie to kids by making marijuana have adverse effects? What??
Are you some kinda of anti-marijuana activist who is trying to sow seeds of doubt in children?
By your logic we should have gay marriage in the game as well as abortions because they are both major political issues. Heck maybe we should somehow get the tensions in Ukraine put into the game because they are also major issues.

If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 99% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 1% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.
If this gets added then little kids will think that real life copied Minecraft because Minecraft had weed first or will spam comments sections saying that weed is from minecraft. It would be like lapis lazuli.

I am not saying mojang supports it. I don't support it. This addition would be to ward children away from drugs.
Not for legalization, but for delegalization, which I state above.
So far we barely know what these look like, act like, or fight like. You're too concerned about drugs to make a logical suggestion.
