Herobrine. The bane of Minecraft Suggestion communities. I'd like to correct that. Herobrine was a really cool and unique creepypasta, and is one of the major icons of Minecraft. Unfortunately he suffers from overuse and fanboy-ism, which makes the mere notion of him being added hated by many Minecrafters.
Herobrine wouldn't necessarily be a mob, or even an entity. Notch tweeted once, when Herobrine was really popular, this:
"I've publicly told people there's never been any such thing as Herobrine, and that I don't have any dead brothers, and that letting too many animals die in lava is a fool proof way to summon him but that you don't need to be afraid of him. He only means well, he's looking out for you, trying to warn you of the dangers you can't see."
This quote was the main inspiration for this suggestion. Honestly, its more of an aesthetic feature then anything. When you first ignite the End Portal with the Eye of Ender, you will be teleported onto the staircase before the portal and won't be able to move or look around. There will be a blast of black void particles, and Herobrine will appear, hovering above you in the cloud of Void particles. A deep, echoing, distorted voice will play, saying "Turn back." and then he'll vanish. This is based off the idea that Herobrine is guarding the Stronghold, trying to keep anyone from unleashing the Ender Dragon, trying to warn you of the dangers you can't see (See, Eye of Ender, Herobrine, white eyes.... yeah no). After that you keep on playing throughout your game. If it would be too disturbing for younger players (Although I honestly think the cave noises are worse), the voice could be played backward, similar to the Endermen neutral ambiance, although it would still be a dark, booming, echoing voice.
I was really hoping I'd never, ever have to see that name again...
If this was 2011, I'm sure this suggestion might have shined, but this is a crappypasta that has been overdone and talked about too much for years. At best, let's move on to something different and let this just die. It's an overplayed topic that can't be repolished, and bringing it up over and over again just worsens it.

I'm not against this idea, as that kind of depiction of Herobrine as a benevolent(?) spirit crossed my mind when I was thinking of Minecraft stories (which may never be readable for the public) but I'm wondering where you found that quote. You said it was a tweet, but could we have a link to it? I don't disbelieve that it's something Notch said, but a citation would be appreciated so others don't have to hunt it down.
For me personal, I think this idea is great. After all, Herobrine does watch over us like a ghost that we don't see and give us a signs that he's here in our world. After all, Herobrine was never existed in Minecraft. I never see him in my game or servers (Players who disguise as Herobrine). I'll give 50/100 chance for me to agree this idea.

Yeah, I still doubt this idea would be accepted if it was seen by Mojang, like I said Herobrine suffers from severe overuse.

The only Herobrine I would support is the canonic Herobrine, thus the Herobrine descriped on this picture, but only if you then must summon him, so that you will only face him and or his small structures if you explicity want that. And still then the encounters would be rare and subtile, with enough room for your imagination. I would not have real problems with that Herobrine in the game.
That's what I was thinking of after the End. After you actually kill the dragon, Herobrine 'keeps an eye on you'. If you try to attack or kill him, he might lean a bit towards the non-canon Vengeful side, but not full on insane griefer, just maybe spawning a creeper or blocking an exit with gravel. However if you impress him, he might appear with his pickaxe and save your life rarely, giving the impression of him 'watching over you'

I don't like that freezing time. It will be annoying after the first time, when you already know the cutscene.
Herobrine's voice. Nothing else have a voice, so it feels really out of place.
Herobrine. Can we stop with Herobrine suggestions ?
No support.
1. Pressing ESC could easily fix that problem, just like the End Poem cutscene, which, if you go to The End a lot, you'll see a lot more then 3 times per world
2. Like I said, a deep voice, backwards and distorted, just like the Endermen ambiance.
3. Yeah, I didn't expect everyone to accept the notion of Herobrine being added. Thanks for commenting
Even though this is more then one of those "OMG ADD HERUBRIN NOW!!!" topics, I'm pretty sure it's still against the rules to post a suggestion about adding him in.
Anyway, I don't like the idea, since it would hint at some kind of a story behind the whole stronghold and the End. And there should be no story whatsoever.
No support.
...and the End Poem doesn't hint at a story? Sorry, just seems like flawed reasoning :/
Why can't we just forget about Herobrine? He's just a semi-edited Steve? skin who griefs buildings, there's nothing interesting about him! Besides, why would he warn you? Every story I've heard of him in he's incredibly evil,so why would he warn you?

Im afraid Threads about Herobrine are against the rules. Also this idea is foolish, Herobrine was just created by some person desperate to making a creepypasta, it was very well written, causing many people to believe in it. We know Herobrine is not real, but Notch has gotten several suggestions stating to add Herobrine, After all that he still hasn't added him. It is likely that this repetitive idea of implementing him to the game is quite unlikely.

Its just for fun, you don't need to over-reacting for a simple little topic, your right. He's just a made-up character that doesn't exist in-game. People makes mod and other things. If he was incredibly evil, he wouldn't probably warn us, maybe tell us to get back or something...

I was thinking more like a guardian instead of a god. And my mistake it wasn't a tweet it was a reddit post, I read it on the Minecraft Wiki but here's the original link:
