So, theoretically, if you were to get a slime block, go bouncy ballistic and accidentally fall through the glass, possibly falling into your lava "cool party floor" it would become common to do that?

Btw, has anyone noticed that he hasn't said anything since the OP? He's newly spawned, in fact.

Also, I think that punching glass with your bear hand should damage you. It would deal 0.5 hearts of unreduced damage and also give you Weakness II and Mining Fatigue I for 18 seconds. Multiple punches breaking glass does not stack the effect, but rather reset the duration.
I like this idea. For those of that are concerned of falling through your party floor: the terminal velocity of a minecrafter is about 80 blocks a second, and it takes 150 blocks to achive this velocity. if you set the break velocity for glass to just 10 blocks per second, you would need a 19 block fall to break through the floor. I have yet to see a party room this big with a glass floor.
Adressing the early posts about running through glass walls: While it may seem unlikely to run through a meter of glass, a pane of glass sounds much more reasonable, and I think that it should be added.
As has been noted by others, this could result in things like glass floors becoming dangerous, both because of players falling through glass floors and because it makes glass a weak point that mobs could enter a house through. I do like the idea, but this would warrant the addition of some kind of strong glass that doesn't break; something along the lines of "reinforced glass" that could be used to make secure windows and floors.

If they're not spreading malicious software, spamming, or being a nuisance, it doesn't matter imo. If I had to guess they probably haven't logged back in for awhile.
I'm not against this suggestion in theory, but in practice? Not so much. I mean, how often does this situation really occur? I can't think of a single time I've ever landed on glass from a great height. I really don't want to divert Mojang resources implementing something that most people wouldn't even know about.
Furthermore, if breaking glass was implemented, why stop there? What about other fragile items? Leaves, glowstone, melons, etc.

Exactly. This right here.
Albiet, falling on melons and they burst into their drops, would be kinda cool.

Cast aside your festive doylaks: dragon stuff is about to happen.
Multiplayer is lonely once you understand how it actually works.

With that logic, we might as well get slivers from punching trees.
Anyway, I'll Support the general idea (could make up for some pretty cool scenes), just fix it up a bit.
Add that /gamerule, state how high of a fall will smash the glass block, and so on.
it doesn't need to be complicated.
Yes I support, but maybe make it so that it only does damage if you fall from 10 blocks or higher?

It takes you 6 seconds to read all of this, 0.3 seconds to look at the egg, 0.2 seconds to click it, 3 seconds to read it's description, 1 second to exit out the page, and 10 seconds to forget it ever happened. :3
if falling on glass hurts you because it's realistic shouldn't punching glass to break it also cause damage for the same reason. Plus glass blocks are solid blocks falling/jumping on one on one wouldn't break it. Solid glass blocks are stronger than concrete blocks and less likely to break in the real world. So if we are being realistic then no glass blocks shouldn't break when you fall on them.
Also this gets into the shallow water fall damage thing. Which is just a big flame war every time it's posted.
Also, if you were trying to do this only to be realistic, it would hurt. A lot. Have you ever felt broken glass? It's so sharp, I barely touched it, and I started bleeding, and I didn't even feel it it was so sharp. All this to say, if you are adding this only for realism, then the glass hurting you should be added.

I would be behind that 100% then.

Same with pumpkins. sounds pretty cool (maybe a new squishing sound to go with it?) I likey.

Critiquing is easy. Creating is difficult.
Fair enough; I guess Minecraft isn't completely logical.

That is what I thought. But then, wouldn't punching a tree, or practically any block harm you?

How not to look like a total fool in the forum games
Except, if they added this, everyone would know that you break through, and it wouldn't good for traps anymore.
