Maybe in the night time sky in Minecraft, we can model the stars according to real life constellations. In the menu, one can choose which hemisphere to bases the constellations of off - North or South. For those that don't want constellation, you can choose the option random so stars ae placed randomly.
If someone chooses the North Hemisphere, we can have Polaris, or North Star. It can lead you directly to your spawn point. I know we have compasses but I think its fun using a star to find our way. They can also be used during day time so it can still be useful. If you want to be able to use it during night time, you can simply choose the option South or random.
The stars in the night time sky can be of varying size and brightness.
I know this is harder to implement, but maybe add the five planets observable from Earth. They can move in the night time sky and maybe the brightest only at certain times.
I know this us not easy to implement. I'm not saying the night time sky should be modeled exactly like the night time sky put just put some major constellations like Orion, Big Dipper, Ursa Major, Leo, etc.
