At the moment, zombies and baby zombies both have 20 health points (10 hearts). Baby zombies deal the same damage as normal zombies while being smaller, moving quicker, and having an immunity to sunlight.
A baby version of a mob should not be better than the original, and that's why I think baby zombies should be nerfed in the following ways:
- Lose their immunity to sunlight, being smaller should not nullify the effects of sunlight.
- Lower their HP, to 16 HP (8 hearts), give or take.
- Inflict a slightly lower damage than their adult-counterparts.
I do agree with you, but I feel baby zombies are meant to be like that due to their low spawn rate. Also, baby zombie spawn rate is lower than for regular zombies; baby zombies take up 5% of zombie spawns.
No support for me. Minecraft mobs are already too easy. I wouldn't make them easier. In fact I might support the opposite more: make adult zombies stronger to bring it more on par with babie zombies.
BTW, baby zombie spawn rate is already a lot lower then normal zombies.

About the spawn rate: I encounter baby zombies fairly often, I assumed they had a spawn rate on par with or above regular zombies. My mistake, I'll take it out of the original post.

Yes, the spawn rate is low, but it makes no sense that a baby version of a regular mob should be stronger than the actual mob.

There are things known as the 10 Suggestion Commandments. Many know the obvious, such as, "Thou shalt search before typing thy post," or, "Thou shalt not be vague," but one that no one knows is, "Thou shalt organize thy post." More people need to know of this commandment.

It annoys me that they're stronger than adults. How about making them inflict less damage, have less health, but spawn more frequently to keep the game just as difficult? They're still super weak anyway because you can outrun them, as are all hostile mobs. Which is why I suggested mob sprinting and hunger a while back...
I kind of like the idea of baby zombies as they are (sans the immunity to sunlight because that makes no sense). I do agree with other people, though, that it makes sense for them to be weaker than normal zombies.
Support. (Though i'm a bit skeptical on lowering the damage because mobs are pitifully weak right now.)

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?
You asked for them, you got them. Now you want to get rid of them. They're ,like rarekwiebus said, hilarious to watch especially when they have armor on. No support.

Well baby zombies don't spawn nearly as much as normal zombies so they are rarer. They have never really bothered me but they kind of put more fun into the game; and did I mention how hilarious they look with armour on? xD
I think their speed should be decreased too, if you had less than 4 food and you can't run then they can easily catch up to you, there's no escaping them.
I believe nerfing a baby zombie would be a bad thing they add more of a difficulty to the game. I hated them at first too! The only thing agree on is the not burning in sun light is slightly unfair. I would much rather see regular zombies lose some of their "sight" as in them seeing from far away and add a high damage on them also and maybe a slight chance like say 10% would have a baby zombie spawn from their death (just a idea)

Who said I want to get rid of baby zombies? They're awesome and I'm just proposing a few changes to them.
Baby zombies are hilarious and make the game more challenging. On one side people want more challenge, on another side people want fun, and on another side people want logic. In this case most people who care about logic (like me) love baby zombies as they are now. I don't support this.

Logic's not what I'm aiming at, the main idea is to change baby zombies so that they're weaker than normal zombies. As McJty's post suggests, if the majority would prefer that normal zombies were buffed to balance things out then I'm all for it.
I'm with the buff'em crowd. If you don't want baby zombies to be equal to zombies, then buff the zombie above the baby zombie. Nerfing something that is extremely easy to kill makes no sense, might as well just delete it.
I say buff'em all and add more mobs and bosses, make it challenging, make it feel like I am actually trying to survive.
The usual rebuttal is about people who just want to build stuff and don't want to be bothred by mobs... well there is creative for a reason.

I know, but I am just saying that it is balanced that way - from a technical perspective.
This explains what I think of the topic.
Critiquing is easy. Creating is difficult.
