Environment: Forested areas with water access AI: Non-Hostile Drop: Meat? Stick? Fish? Misc: These little furry creatures, though adorable, can be quite irritating. They need wood for their dams, and they are going to get that wood from the same place you are... trees.
They come out and gnaw away at the trees, collecting the blocks of wood and taking them back to the water where they build their dam.
They're a very simple mining and building mob, the building they'd make would be a very simple 4x4 tube with a 2x2 hole in the bottom somewhere. It would have to be scripted to empty out of water, but that shouldn't be too difficult.
A Beaver dam should house 3-5 beavers, and if you attack it, you can collect the wood. But the beavers will just collect more from the surrounding trees to replace what you take.
"Minecraft? Realistic? Really? This is a game where you punch trees to get wood, you can make the wood into wooden planks in less than five seconds, and trees don't fall even if you remove a piece of the trunk from the middle. This is a game where animate corpses, giant spiders and exploding green terrorists emerge at night to hunt you down, farm animals run rampant across the countryside, and you can stop the flow of molten lava with a block of snow."
if the beavers need wood and they dont have anytrees nearby and then your house is right there they should take it from your house if its made out of wood
Very nice. I'd assume it would drop sticks and dirt, or mud if that is ever added.
The only problem I have is that if it was getting wood from trees, wouldn't that leave a bunch of trees around that are floating just a few blocks off the ground? They probably can't reach all the way to get more than the bottom 1 or 2 logs from a tree.

Beaver's may be cute, but they're actually quite sick, vicious little buggers. Have fun swimming in the water where they have been in, and then catching the Beaver Fever and dying a slow, agonizing death...
Aw, why is this little guy not a face in your signature D:

I don't think it would be inappropriate to lengthen the reach of the Beaver for the express purpose of acquiring wood. I think it would actually be pretty awesome if they left the bottom most block of tree so it looked like a stump. That would be pretty sweet.
Hmm, to make coding easier I'd say spawn them in a sort of dam-dungeon that is very small, and then get them to go out and collect more wood and place it nearby their existing dam.

Additionally, you should allow it to try to chew on wood blocks and sticks if there aren't any log blocks close enough.
