I heard that wolves are going to be added to minecraft. So i thought " How about there is a chance ( like 10%?) when your hit by a wolf that you contract a disease that turns you into a werewolf once night comes? " As a werewolf you are now 2x1 like this:
[] [] instead of:
[]
[]
You run faster (say 150%?), You now have claws you do damage equal to an iron sword, you also dig through dirt gravel and sand the speed of an iron shovel, but you can hold tools and you dig through stone (or any ore) slower then a barehanded human and you get no ore, also you can not hold any item other then meat and other animal products.
I haven't decided whether or not the other wolves should be hostile to you when your a werewolf. But all other mobs will be (Other then non-hostile mobs)
I thought being a werewolf would be really annoying to some considering you cant do anything but kill things during the night so i thought of a cure: You have to eat a ball of slime because it is extremely rare or you could have to eat some new type of mushroom or flower.
Seems A Bit Good.... maybe we can make a easy to make potion that temporarily fixes it for 5 nights? and one hard to make potion that fixes it? also slime balls would seem like eating a giant glob of bacteria though. overall good.
I think having a temporary fix potion sort of defeats the purpose. Though im fine with the hard to make potion. How about the slime ball is an ingredient in the potion? im just trying to give a slime ball a purpose because it has none.
unless it was temporary i wouldnt like this cause if slimeballs are the cure im ****ed cause i have never seen one slime in my entire life i would love it if there was like a way you could master the form and turn into it at randomly
it would be interesting it reminds me of morrowind's bloodmoon expansion but dropping all you stuff seems like it would get really bothersome after awhile maybe make it so you get cant use tools?
I spent a little bit too much time in my mine, and I realize that it is sunset just as I am exiting. I had recently encountered a werewolf spawner, but had managed to destroy i and take the stuff in the chests. The sun sets just after I get halfway to my home, and I begin to sweat and feel severe pains in my back and legs. Then, I begin to lay down, and let out a powerful roar as I sprout claws and enlarged canines. I realize that I have turned into some other creature and that my tools are useless, so I leave to find out how powerful I am against creepers and zombies.
This would be great! I would get myself infected on purpose half of the time.

Exactly HERBS they were used in making indian medicines why not cure it with this? 'bout time a i mixed sum blackberrys, basil, and nuts together to make a medicine. Note: Yes indian medicines were made with the strangest things together.
Good, but in need of some tweaks, especially the % of you getting infected. 10% per hit? a mob of 3 wolves will have you infected in no time unless you take em out with a bow and arrow from afar...I'm thinking more like 5 or 3%.
What would happen to your skin if this happened? Would you keep any part of it? Or would there only be one werewolf skin?
This. It needs to be addressed.
Also, most people are either going to be fighting mobs or locked in their house at night anyway if they aren't on peaceful, so this just makes it more interesting. However, I agree that dropping your items is too much, just have no use of tools. Lightstone could be a location-based cure, maybe. That is, if you're close enough, you stay human.
Furthermore, would you still turn into a werewolf when you're in a cave? That's the other primary night-time activity.
As the Werewolf, items can not be held, but your claws do a considerable amount of damage and you are invulnerable to anything but silver (or Steel if Silver is never added), and in SMP, it can be spread to other players through harming but not killing. When you die, you no longer have the disease. As the Werewolf, you do not have full control over your actions, with the game controlling it and making it go after mobs and players at times. This can be fought however, by moving in the opposite way the disease is making you. As the Werewolf, you can dig through dirt and sand, and if there is nothing to kill in a certain radius, the disease will make you attack things like trees, workbenches, chests, ect.

Sounds a bit better.
Another thing would be that if you are not in the sight of the moon, you will not change, but if you are a Werewolf, you change back when the sun's light touches your skin. And to answer some questions:
Yes, ancient plant base medicine is the only way to go and The Wolf skin could be edited like the human skin.

Wait. If that means I have a megaman skin I have a chance of the maker making me the RC COIL in megaman 2? Gosh that would be awesome.
either would be awesome, as once one would be implemented it would be a similar process to add the other
cures are definately a must, as it would get annoying after a while, something similar to the Pre-wrath of the lich king Ghoul event where you'd be infected then after death you'd become yourself again, and could infect others while you were a ghoul. something along those lines would be soo awesome
When in werewolf form you have a wolf skin with maybe different colored eyes. During transformation you are a human with wolf fur patches and you cant move for five seconds, Or vice versa. I also thought for multiplayer in Pvp if you kill a werewolf you get werewolf hair and you use it to make a health potion like this:
[] []
[] []
[] []
The top being the hair and the rest is what it looks like. This potion only works for Regular humans if a werewolf drinks it it is damaged 1 heart. it does nothing to animals. Maybe it can be thrown like a projectile and if a werewolf steps in it then it takes one heart damage every second ( The water is a bucket of water and you get your bucket back)
I also thought that having the Infection chance at ten percent was a bit high so i think 5% (like 1/20 chance) would be fine. When you are bit you dont know your a werewolf until the night or the next night if it is already night.
And yes you could edit your wolf skin. You also always turn into a werewolf during the night and turn back during the day no matter above or below ground just like in the movies :biggrin.gif:

You would only drop the things in your current 1-9 slots and even then you can just pick them up on the ground. but they will not go into your 1-9 slots again, instead they will go to your inventory.

The only way to kill werewolves is with a gold sword and a werewolf is not a mob the mob that infects you is a regular wolf.

I lol'd, I really did. I wonder how it'll fare with different textures. .-.
It's taking like 9000 tries to post this D:
Well, it would make sense that you'd be able too. You are subjected to madness, you might as well look awesome in your lunacy.
