I present to you the 3rd swamp mob concept, the Floating Flamme. This concept is not based on any real-life animal, but came straight out of my imagination. I used Blender and Photoshop to create this.
A Little Backstory
This creature is known by many names, some call it the Soul Stealer, some the Reaper of the Marsh, others call it the Floating Furnace, but many simply call it the Floating Flamme. Like zombies on the grassland and phantom divers at sea, the floating flamme is believed to be the wandering souls of the ones who died in the swamp. Twisted and insane, the floating flamme seems to be on an endless hunt for mortal souls. To make matters worse, the floating flamme's body is almost entirely composed of swamp gas, making it very difficult to destroy.
Floating Flamme AI:Hostile, I'm not sure if it should have melee attacks(like the zombie) or ranged attacks(like the skeleton) or even both. If the floating flamme is ranged than it can shoot an orb orf St. Elmo's fire, which can cause your movement speed to temporarily drop. (Here's the wiki article for those of you who don't know what St. Elmo's Fire is:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Elmo's_fire) Spawns: At night in the swamps Spawnrate:Rare Drops:? (Suggestions on this are welcomed) Extra: Like the ghast, it can float/fly, but only to a certian height. (meaning it can't fly all the way up to the sky limit). It can make some sort of demonic/maniacal laughter or some sort of mumbling. It can also sort of have a pacing/patrol pattern around its point of origin.
Once again here is a little example of what it can look like in-game if it's coming towards you.

epic! when I first saw the image though I imagined it more of spewing out a big pillow of fire (maybe 8x5) more like a flamethrower than a ghast. I think this would be a little more intimidating just for going from this green blob with something bright in it's mouth to having to dodge around it as your eyebrows go poof.plus you might be able to craft it droppings into some flame-oriented weapon!

Thanks! In blender, if you pull down the top control bar (where it has the "file","add","render",etc buttons on it), you should see a button that says "System & OpenGL". Click on it and then deselect the button called "mipmaps". (mipmaps is what makes it look blurry)

By the looks of it, it should attack you by either Biting you (possibly setting you on fire), Shooting fire at you, or maybe it can Summon up Zombies to fight for it! That would be pretty evil.
As for it's drop? Perhaps a Slime-ball or a torch? xD
i think it should drop some cobblestone :cobblestone:, possibly a stone pick, some coal,maybe some torches and wood,and a work bench i approve

I thought skeletons, but then I figured that would be too much trouble. Zombies fit in more with the Swamp biome anyhow!
This looks like a way cooler version of the ghast!!!! Heres a thing that i thought of that sounded cool, since it shoots fire, when it dies it should blow up and fire would shoot out of it.(it is cheep but it would be cool to see :biggrin.gif:)
