I propose that wool be changed so that it can actually be used as real carpeting. This can only be done one of two ways, either change wool blocks to be pretty much the same size as a layer of snow (no further explanation needed?), or make a new carpet block that would have same texture as wool (or maybe a different one) and would also be the size of a layer of snow.
It could be crafted like so:
[] [] []
[] [] [] = wool
The only problems with this method is that it would take a little more work for Notch to implement, and it would require more wool to cover the same area, which means you would need more

Minecraft is the meth of video games, try it once and you're hooked, and you'll stay up for 3 days when you're on it.
i like this idea... if you don't have enough to cover an entire room you could have area rugs until you've punched enough sheep to finish... but i'd make it so that the carpeting isn't flammable... like paintings... i had a few full stacks of wool that i wasn't using for anything so i decided to make it into a floor for one of my houses... i didn't like the way it looked and i didn't really need it so i decided to just burn it away instead of taking forever to break it all down... it worked great until the fire somehow jumped through three blocks of air and my cobblestone ceiling to set my wood roof on fire... that really sucked... burned up three stacks of logs
