I know there is talk about time, what a good time scale would be for how long nights and days go by, in multiplayer and singleplayer, but how about a slider? Lowest being half of default, and highest being realistic time shifts.
This could solve many issues of people griping and complaining, to get -their- preferred playstyle with the time slider, although I don't know how much work would have to be put into this, or if it is extremely simple considering the coding of the time shifts.
So just thought I'd throw that out there. Personally I don't mind the default times, but day does seem to fly by really quickly, and I know others think the same way, some more strongly than I do.
I thought of this mostly because of the talk about times changing, even the talk about SMP time changes. Secondly what made me think of it, is the realism slider being talked about.
Well we don't really want an overwhelming number of options in the game, since this makes a huge learning curve. Custom stuff like this is better achieved with modding.

Or server options.
