I have no graphical talents to add to this thread, I wish I did. Anyway, I think it would be really neat if mobs (preferably night monsters) behavior varied based on the biome that they resided in. For example, creepers in the snow may be a slightly different color, and burst into fireballs, such as the ones that ghasts shoot at you. This, in my opinion, would make the game fore exciting, and add more of a thrill.
Knowing that you are entering a new biome, and that the monsters there are either less or more dangerous. I'll leave it up to your creativity to determine what their behaviors/look should be in the biomes!
I Haven't seen all the new biomes yet but I can imagine something like the creepers and such having a lighter/whitish coloring change in winter biomes. That or them having what looks like icicles in snowy areas and dusty in desert areas. I'd imagine it wouldn't be something that would happen the second they enter an area if coming from a different one but if they were there for a little while the texture would change. Nice idea tho!
I wanted to suggest different monsters for different biomes, this thread is the closest I found. But I don't think just white creepers for snow for instance - I think totally new monsters for different biomes.
It just seems pointless to travel to far off lands just to be confronted by the same 3 monsters everywhere - spiders, skeletons and creepers.
Actually for that matter it's boring finding the same animals in each biome - Pigs in snow....? (am I wrong about this - pigs in snow I mean, and chickens in the desert.... have I seen a chicken in the desert....? I'm assuming this is the case. Should be scorpions in the desert. and maybe camels instead of cows...? and wheres the palm trees around the desert oasises. I'm rambling now.
This would be cool! Skeletons could shoot Ice arrows in snow, fire arrows in desert, and creepers could blend in more! Zombies could also blend in slightly and have dmg reduction/buff depending on the biomes. This is a pretty cool idea :smile.gif:
