Another swamp mob concept from me, this time the Dirt Crawler. I based it off of the Mudskipper, one of the world's only amphibious fish. This could be considered the cow of the swamp biome, but without the constant mooing.
A Little Backstory
Half-fish-half-amphibian, the Dirt Crawler is one of the few peaceful inhabitants of the swamp. Being cautious creatures, they stay in groups of 3 or more and seem to stay close to water. These large creatures cover themselves in mud, which is a way to hide their scent from any nearby predators. Whenever one does come near, they will attempt to stand their ground, issuing a low bellowing noise in an attempt to scare off the predator. If that does not work, they stir up a cloud of dust with their tails and use that dust cloud as an escape route.
Dirt Crawler AI:Passive Spawns:On dirt/mud/water tiles in the swamp biome Spawnrate:Common to Uncommon Drops: Mud balls, scales? (I am horrible when it comes to drop ideas) Other: The sounds it could make is a sort of splashing mud noise, or it could not make any sound at all. Whenever the player comes near, it could make that low bellowing noise, giving the sense that it's trying to scare you away. After that it could try to run towards any nearby water tile.
Also
I've decided that I'm going to do 3-4 mob concepts for each biome, so as of now, 2/4 of the swamp mobs are done.
~ I've thought about the phrase 'Money is the root of all evil' and I have to disagree. Evil isn't dependant on an object. I say that want is the root of all evil.
need's a drop other than mud/dirt(which should have)
it eat's plants?
then it could drop mushrooms
it's something like a lizard lizard?
in which case it could drop scales or someting

ZA WARDO! Toki wo tomare Kurae Roada rollera da... WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! Muda muda muda muda muda muda muda muda muda muda muda muda muda muda muda muda muda MUDA Soshite toki ga ugoki desu.
Here's an idea. If it's near enough to water, they can be seen flopping toward it. Once inside, the mud is washed off and it's revealed that they are baby lurkers, which are passive unless attacked.
Thanks, I would have never thought of calling the Dirt Crawler adorable.

I especially like how there are always three of them together and they actually show distinct behavior (fleeing to water) instead of just hopping around aimlessly.
The pic is also awesome, and fits perfectly with the swamp image in my head.
This is a no-brainer. Please have this added ASAP.

Glad you like it.
What modeling program do you use? I really want to make some suggestions.
I use a program called blender when modeling my mobs.
The caveman's secret weapon
I guess it could do that.
Thanks!
Actually the Stalking Tree was the other swamp mob.
