I just think it's silly to have a plant that creates light in a Realm that pretty much consists of nothing but light, and have it grow in a water that isn't really going to get that deep, since everything is on floating islands; go too deep and you come out the bottom.
And I probably will change Pigasus back to Phyg eventually. I may let that sit until it's time to post on Get Satisfaction.
For GFStones:
Did anyone take physics? You could say that each powerlevel = 1 block/sec windspeed. I'm sure that their is some physics calculation for an object's force/distance/etc. It might be too complicated for distance if it's exponential, since Minecraft users need to be able to figure that, but for windspeed (affect on speed) then it could be more complicated since it doesn't really directly affect any mechanisms the player makes. You could also use those calculations with the assumed weight of one block of sand/gravel/floatsand(Well, that would probably be 0) to dictate what wind power is necessary to push them/push how many of them (I.E, two sand blocks in front of a gale/flowstone?).
NEW AETHER WONDER-ANCES:
What if you drop an item off the Aether (Like with using q)? You can't really just leave it on the bottom of the Aether, and loading it into the Overworld while the Aether is loaded causes problems. Same thing for if float sand gets struck on the top side, so that it goes down, what happens?
Until now I've been thinking...
[Aether]
[Overworld]
[A layer of bedrock] -Imaginary,
[Nether]
If this is the current idea, then Airship travel would make sense, and falling into a pool of water to save yourself would make, well, more sense. I thought you could build up unto the sky limit, which would be right under the Aether. But now I'm thinking...
[Aether]
[umpteenthousand feet of nothing but air] -Imaginary
[Overworld]
[A layer of bedrock] - Imaginary
[Nether]
In this case, the Overworld would appear to be very far below, with a thin veil of clouds revealing the bottom of the Aether. This way, traveling in Airships, at least to/from the Aether and Overworld would make no sense. When falling, you would reach "terminal velocity," where you will fall from the top of the Overworld until you hit a solid block or mob(You'd pass through water/lava with the same velocity. If you die from drowning(possible?)/health drain before you hit a solid block, you'll just die there). The solid block will be hit with a certain force, like an explosion, which might break it or do nothing. If you hit a mob, the mob loses 10 health (which is currently the most anything has) and drops a special item (a new record, creeper tears? It could depend on mob too). Either way, you die automatically upon impact. I don't know how wind would affect this.
Also, any floatsand or items thrown off the edge could get "lost in the wind." This could either mean that it is loaded into a queue, and when the player loads the overworld, items are placed within X blocks of where they would've fallen if they were the player, and floatsand similarly. The problem with that is that it might be hard to figure out if the Aether travel is 8x or 1/8th of regular Overworld travel. It would also cause a slight delay to the loading scene of the Overworld. The alternative is that "lost in the wind" literally means lost, and it is just destroyed.
After GFStone discussion, we should probably discuss sentries, airships/gliders, and then the report will probably be ready.
This is definately a good idea, but I believe that it could be improved. Less comical (pigasus) and possibly more magical. I like the sheep idea, but I think you could improve upon the general idea. Just for example, perhaps a somewhat rare finding could be slightly glowind diamond slabs that drop 2 or 3 diamonds when you are in a temple.
An interesting portal idea would be surrounding one glowstone block with water and putting a torch on top of it, then a beam of light came down and if you stood in it long enough you would slowly lift off the ground and go to the Aether. Maybe runes that could give you the ability to blast fire like a ghast, shoot air like the gust stones, or freeze enemies. (Avatar reference if you didn't get it already) Just some suggestions. but I give the general idea many 's
Elmach, the key word there was "official." meaning, until Mojang Specifications adds a carryable light source in the game, we shouldn't do it. Not couldn't.

Actually, I was figuring on wind just simply taking up a single 1x1 block with its length = to its power. So 34 power gives you a wind that will push for 34 blocks, each block further from source will have -1 power. So it seeks from it's source block for 34 blocks, if it encounters any non-mobile blocks, it stops. If it encounters any mobile blocks, then it continues seeking at a -2 penalty per mobile block it seeks through, until it encounters either a solid block, or an empty block. If it finds an empty block, it will push the non-solid blocks into that empty space.
If 2 wind currents try to affect the same block, then the stronger current wins when deciding which direction it goes. If the values are the same, then the block counts as being still. (even if the wind directions are perpendicular)

Essentially, the "adminium" layer for the Aether is completely flat and covered in a one way portal that negates all fall damage the player would have taken, and sends them back to the ceiling of the Overworld. Any items that fall down here will not be visible, but can be obtained by falling down where they landed, however this will of course send the player back to the overworld. Blocks that fall or are sent down here will be broken into their item form, much like what happens to sand or gravel when it drops onto a torch.

Basically, the second diagram is the more accurate one, except you should put imaginary next to Aether and Nether as well. Neither one has been confirmed as even being in the same universe as the Overworld, which is why the Aether has a huge portal underneath it, which is responsible for sending the player back to the overworld when they fall. The fact that this makes it seem like the Aether is above the Overworld is entirely beside the point.
After GFStone discussion, we should probably discuss sentries, airships/gliders, and then the report will probably be ready.
And parachutes. Firehazurd has been working on some ideas for how the Sentry should look, but I haven't really been satisfied so far,(I really do want a Shoopdawhoop lion for that, I'm not kidding) and his online activity has been sporadic at best.
Pigasus (Mockup Art by Soul_Cake_Duck) Edited by me.
Pigasus are flying pigs, and simply look like regular pigs with a pair of wings. They spawn in herds, drop feathers when hit, drop meat when killed, and can even be saddled to be ridden. Return to Top
BUT, until Notch makes it official we can't think up ideas for an unofficial mod if we want this grand idea to be official.
In other words: Until moving light is made official, no dice.
Also, I demand a poll on the flying pig's name.
Personally, I like "Phyg"

Yours is fairly well set in terms of mechanics, but we still need to figure out it's cap, power, and multiplicative properties.
With trying to introduce the "chain property" to mine a fair amount needs to be reworked.

Could you just put both names for the Phyg up? (Pigasus/Phyg?)
Now I prefer Phygasus.
I hate compromise.
But I have no problem with ideas that solve all issues.
Keeps the idea of flying pig quite well, and has the originality/phonetic pleasure of Phyg.
I'm officially casting a vote.
