Hmmm I like the idea for the "Sheeppuff", but how about instead of dropping normal wool, it drops a new material, or maybe just a special kind of wool. Maybe collecting three pieces of its wool and then placing them in the same way as a half-step in the Work Bench could produce a half step that with Redstone, can expand to a full block? Using two and placing one on the other could allow you to jump onto it as a full block, then expand both so it's a two block high wall? obviously, the wool would burn, and probably be effected by gravity.
@GreyAcumen
Is the Aether going to have any NPC villages? I could plan one out if you want.
Only if the Overworld already gets them from notch, but if so, then I'm rather fond of the idea of having "ghost" mobs that simply run if you do attack them.

Yeah, I think not. That block wouldn't accomplish anything that couldn't be done with either Songstone or Floatsand.(both of which would be more versatile on top of that) Dropping string should be special enough for the Sheepuff. Perhaps the string should only drop if the sheepuff is sheared while it is inflated.

@grey: put in blue slime orbs as a auxiliary drop because then my paint thread will have purpose :tongue.gif:
Swets are supposed to be water based, hence their inability to actually hurt you and your ability to get stuck inside them. I really honestly think that blue paint should just simply come from a blue flower that should be seperate from the Aether thread. It's a nice thought, but we really shouldn't be looking at the aether as a gateway for implementing what are relatively mundane things. If paints are implemented, then they should quite frankly be something that can be commonly obtained, not something that requires travel to the Aether and even then has a rare chance of ever finding it.

I think that for the villages, there should just be angel mobs (player with halo and white robes), and they carry gold swords, but are NOT as deadly as zombie pigmen (their nice little angels, arent they?). The idea of having angels that appear after you die would be replaced by this, but the drop idea would stay, or maybe have some special robe or something that lets you walk on the cloud blocks, even after they temporarily dissapear?
I guess I can keep the dust idea but I would have to make the dust from plants (which people did back in the long long ago older days)
however, green flowers? :/
ehhh, yeahhhhh
who said anything about green? Blue flower pigment + yellow flower pigment = green pigment.
Use coal and milk to give darker and lighter hues.

No. There's just no need for this. 1) Whatever drops you get should go towards CRAFTING things, not just something you only use as is, and 2) While I'm totally okay with the religious presence in games, and honestly don't care about the people who are oversensitive about it, there's no reason for angels seeing how the Aether is "heavenly" but NOT specifically HEAVEN, just like the Nether is "hellish" but not specifically "HELL", and neither does Nether incorporate little red demons with barbed tails, horns, batwings, and pitchforks. While it might be reasonable for a mod to add that stuff in (even if the Aether already is a mod, which would make it a modding of a mod?) it's not something Aether should be focusing on implementing, pretty much the same reason that Aether shouldn't be dealing with adding pigments, that should be it's own separate mod.
I know it's kind of a fuzzy line between "ghosts" and "angels" but I feel it should be drawn. And remember, I suggested the ghosts ONLY if Notch implemented AI NPC villagers in the Overworld.

Instead of full blown ghosts in the Aether, there should just be wisps. Would fit better, IMO. I could make a model if you want.

~ I've thought about the phrase 'Money is the root of all evil' and I have to disagree. Evil isn't dependant on an object. I say that want is the root of all evil.
If you want. I was just using "ghosts" as a placeholder name. Maybe something like "cloud people" or "Lingers" might be another potential name. My envisioning was just a simple generic human NPC model made white and translucent, nothing fancy.
While I don't think we need any actual undead in the Aether, some sort of spiritual entity things would be good, but wisps appear over bogs and swamps, so I will have to disagree with that suggestion.
And Grey, what do you think of my Aether Yeti idea?

True enough.

That's why I wasn't going fancy on them, people could be free to view them as ghosts or just some sort of ethereal entity. No need to commit to any specific description for them.
And Grey, what do you think of my Aether Yeti idea?
Basically, I view it about the same as I view the Goliath mob. They're not badly thought out, but I'm just not really seeing them fit the Aether well.
Personally, I think a yeti in a place that focuses on air just doesn't fit. A yeti, to me, is a giant ape thing that spends its days roaming the arctic, clubbing seals and what not. It would be a good addition to biome-dependent creatures, but I don't think it belongs in the aether.

You, sir, are aware of the Common Stereotypical Yeti [Gigantopithecus commonus falso]. Yetis are actually tall bipedal apes restricted to the Himalayan Mountains in Nepal, where they are also considered by some of the local religious people as guardians of the highest mountain peaks that prevent travelers from going to the tops. Some even consider them deities. The Aether is glacial and, in a way, high up. Very similar to the Himalayas, thus explaining my reasoning.

Yeah, in a way I do kinda favor the Yeti a bit more than the Goliath for that reason. I dunno, I think it's just a matter that I'm not really interested in the idea of another mob that would be "1 body, 1 head, 2 arms 2 legs, and it just moves around. Part of the issue is also that since it can't fly, it would need some relatively heavy AI pathfinding to ensure it didn't end up killing itself by missing a jump from one island to another.
Also havng issues with the idea that it's a yeti, and all it would do is throw you. I'd rather see the yeti on normal mountains in the overworld at that point, and then let it also be able to damage you, perhaps merge it with Firehazurd's Troll mob and allow the Yeti to throw rocks too.

OH OH OH :biggrin.gif: I has an idea, make it so that when phygs are hit twice they drop 5 feathers and lose their wings :biggrin.gif:
Nah, it's not like wings are only feathers and nothing else. Probably more like 1 feather per 2 damage to a max of 4 feathers. 10HP total so last 2 HP of damage result in the dropping of the meat.

Listen, the Aether is another dimension. It may actually be the lowest part of its own planet. A yeti is a mythological entity that lives on Earth. Let it be in the Overworld, but not other dimensions.
