What about snowballs? They don't do that yet but it's planned in the New Nether, right?
Water is an actual placed block, the same way fire is. It's also a type of block that DOESN'T work in the Nether, which prevents you from creating a working Aether portal in the Nether. Similarly fire doesn't work in the Aether, (though lava can still be placed, it wont flow as far, and wont generate fires) which prevents Nether portals being created in the Aether.
what if the liquid is only capable of healing you in the aether? The aether's main hazards are environmental related, so essentially if they don't kill you than health won't matter. Keep in mind that almost the sole reason i'm still fighting for this idea is because I relly want me mah crying obsidian back.
Health definitely matters, seeing as how falling damage is the most prevalent, and you can take plenty of damage from that without dying. So no, it still would be overpowered even if it only worked in the Aether.
As for Crying Obsidian, you don't even have any idea of what it should do, so why would you possibly be so attached to it? If you're talking about that mystery block that looked like obsidian with blue streaks of some sort, then just go to the New Nether and scroll down to Echollow, I have that as its appearance.
Okay, if you don't like how I made the liquid heal players, you could possibly make it so that it has some other effect. I also must have misunderstood the concept of the Aether's build and I am sorry for that. Plus I hate most of the crud that the mod has done and I never go there.
I really like the concept but I think that all the blocks and mobs are just too complicated. I appreciate them as individual suggestions but all of them together is a bit overwhelming. I could never see the Aether being released into the game with all of these things and I actually wouldn't want it to. I just feel that the Aether should be kept simple. Not as simple as the Nether is now but also not overshadowing the normal world.
Well, all this is made with the assumption that Notch will make the regular Overworld more complex over time, I think...
maybe you could actually tame a pigasus with some apples, which would make it follow you, but then you could put a saddle on it and ride (control?) it. a tamed pigasus will not fight for you however, and tamed pigasuses (pigasi, pigaseses?) would wear flight goggles!
Ummmmm, why is ChromE credited for inspiring the Anti-Nether idea? I was the first person to popularize the concept. Just look at this and check the dates between the two. I was the first to get the ball rolling, I feel as though I should get my proper dues.
Oh hey. So, about that healing liquid; I actually like the idea, but minus the fact that you can pick it up in gold buckets. Or rather anything at all. I mean, if it were rare enough it wouldn't be too bad, right? Just the idea of a natural, unmovable healing spring sounds good to me. Obviously I don't know too much about game balance, but I just thought I'd put my two cents in.

ChromE is credited since his thread (the Ether) was the thread the Aether split off from.
Your thread is another Heaven suggestion out of many and probably not the first one to be posted. It's likely that GreyAcumen had never even seen yours. Should he credit every single person who posted an anti-Nether suggestion before he did?
Wait, waa? When was this topic unlocked? Oh, wait. This is the suggestion topic, not the mod topic. Proceeeeed.

NO. Don't click New Thread. Read the rules. I don't give a damn how long or boring they are. If you do not, you will be subject to massive flaming and criticism by yours truly.

No, the whole point of the pigasus is that you can use a regular saddle on them.

What about separate biomes WITHIN the Aether. The Nether could also have separate biomes.
My Idea for an Anti-Nether

Mostly moved on. May check back a few times a year.
If you want to interpret this thread as the "New Aether" then the "Old Aether" means NO Aether.
Sooo... good job at saying "This is good, but I'd rather have nothing."
I believe the person is referring to the Aether mod, which I'm seeing as the new Aether too (I'd also prefer the original Aether to the new Aether).

That or whatever it is Mojang is making.
