I don't really like the fact that you used the shoop da woop thing for sentries and a lot of the other idea's aren't really minecrafty.
I mean, I'd love to have an anti nether realm after the nether has been given a good update but it would be much better with more minecraftyness (lol)
Awesome idea! I'm pretty sure Notch will make this.... eventually.... (though by then there will be a thousand mods for this)
Still, i love this idea so much that my computer crashed. and i know that doesn't make sense

for now i don't have a Sig... but enjoy the following question:
Is the Answer to this question no?

he's using the shoop da woop because he doesn't have a clue what its going to look like, (maybe a glowing, hovering diamond blue dispenser?) also... what do you mean by minecrafty? cause if you're referring to realism, then the nether is a good example of non-realism, and if you mean its too mystical or something similar, does random floating blocks of sand and dirt make sense to you?
(minecraftyness, lol)
i think that for moving around the Aether could rails would be a cool idea they would be like regular rails except that you don't need a block under them and you lose less speed when going up, they could be made from cold Cloud using

What exactly would make it more "minecrafty"? There isn't really anything in here that doesn't fit with minecraft that I can think of. Yes, the sentries could use some work, but it's still a solid idea for replacing monster spawners in the Aether.

That actually would be a good idea! if you manage to disable it and bring it with you to make a allied sentry, it could work as a dispenser with an auto-tracking aim!

I once saw a chicken push a creeper off of a cliff. I never looked at chickens the same way ever again. That is of course until I needed feathers.
I have an idea for a counter part to darkwood, introducing lightwood
I've really been trying to avoid adding blocks or materials that wouldn't do anything more than add new tiers to the game. When I look at the other features, all I see is:
Growth pattern is pretty much the same as darkwood
Material needed to mine is yet another case of "needs golden tool" and an improper use at that. Golden tools were only being proposed for blocks or mobs that require insubstantial mining. Zyphers need a Golden Sword, Aetherock needs a Golden Pickaxe, Floatsand ONLY needs a Golden Shovel to keep the block from moving. It can be mined by other shovels perfectly fine as long as the path it would move in is blocked by another solid block.
A special "Aether Tree" is already covered by the whole "Crystal Tree" phenomena that occurs when a sapling grows in the Aether during Daey.
As far as the log blocks go, there are already plenty of blocks or craftable items that give off light. Glowstone and Jackolanterns being the big ones.
Darkwood also wouldn't be able to catch on fire, since it absorbs light and heat, and also would likely turn lava into obsidian.
Things like making enemies ignore you, being able to mine obsidian twice as fast yet still has iron durability, a station that can regenerate your health, and being able to burn it to give items 50% more durability are all WAY too overpowered for something that can GROW.
So when I look at it, all I see is something that adds no new features, except for things that are overpowered. Take a look at the other block suggestions that have made the list. Everything they add is something completely new to the game that would allow you to do things that couldn't be done AT ALL. Darkwood lets you freeze things, Crystal lets you direct NATURAL light, Galestone/Flowvein let you create wind and pipe system, Aetherock lets you create hidden entrances and pitfalls, Coldcloud lets you create paths that collapse behind you, Floatsand/hoverglass lets you create moving mechanisms like elevators, water/lava flow control systems, etc.

Actually, I know pretty much exactly what I want it to look like; chinese guardian lion-dog thing, but with the face altered to look more like the shoopdawhoop.

I don't really understand what you're saying here.

I think notch will make a "anti-Nether"- World, because there is the texture of a new Obsidian Block (but it is not used now) I HOPE THERE WILL BE THE AETHER!
I'm quite familiar with all of the textures that are in minecraft. I haven't seen anything that looks like a new type of obsidian.

My god thats the best idea Ive seen in a while. needs to add this. maby you could craft saddles to ride the piguses like this.
Actually, I'd be more likely to make it like this: =leather, [@]=string, =cloth, any color
[@] [@]
But there could also be sky cows and you could get sky leather from them (whats yellow leather) and use that to make special skypig saddles instead of usual saddles.
The whole point of having flying pigs was that they'd use the same saddle as regular pigs and not need anything different.

You've probably answered this question before, and I strongly hope the answer is yes, but is this idea on Getsatisfaction yet?
If not, it really should be.
Sorry for asking again, just can't rightly be bothered to sift through 85 pages to find my answer. :smile.gif:
Technically, there is already an Aether suggestion, but I need to submit this version once I finish polishing up the block descriptions and Mob mockups so that they can use it as the authoritive version. I've just been slow doing that because of all the other ideas I'm involved in.
Ine aether, THERE IS NO GRAVITY. )how the hell would you hunt the flying sheep, cows or other mobs that you suggest?
What the hell are you talking about? Of course there is gravity. Gravity is 95% of the danger that you face in the Aether. As for hunting Pigasus or Sheepuffs, just wait for them to land or shoot them with a bow. Or get access to one of the various methods of airborn transportation available to the player with the addition of the Aether.
"Creepers just want hugs but when they get to you they realise they have no arms to hug you with so they explode from sadness... or something like that."
*Sigh* While the "Lightwood" Idea is both Cheesy, and slightly useful, I don't think that it will be implemented along There are already many ideas centered around the "Crystal" trees.
P.S. Grey, did you see my Schpeel two pages ago about possible mob interaction with the secondary circuits?

I think we should just tell Notch we want an anti-nether realm and then leave it to him and his team
