I like the apple and the helmet, but I prefer Magic with Lightstone. From what I understand notch is planning on putting in NPC's. NPC's mean the possibility of trade. And gold is fairly uncommon...
I like the Enchanments... they are cool... but this feels so... not MAGIC
I want to loot the world for bits and pops trying to craft a spell that takes a long time to craft, but is well worth it.
I want to be looking for strange and seemling random things, each with their own effect, which add up to usefull spells if mixed up. I want to be able to mix and match magic in strange ways!
If you want an unintuitive and overcomplicated magic system, then I suggest checking out Magicraft, but this system is specifically intended to be simple and intuitive because that is what Minecraft is.
I think maybe speeding the shovel as used continuously is overpowered, or at least too complex for the general idea :happy.gif: rest is awesome though! I support

I have to admit, the enchanted shovel was a real stretch. I couldn't think of what other enchantment it could be given that wouldn't either be useless or overpowered.
I always liked the idea of a shovel that always got flint, so there's that. and I thought of something that was interesting for the pikaxe at least... Double ore chance. so when mining diamond, you now have a reason to save the ore until you have a better tool. overpowered, maybe, but by itself is good. maybe when picking stone, get smooth stone instead of cobble? just throwing **** out there for ya. :happy.gif:

Except gold can't mine diamond. Even if it's enchanted, it's still gold, that's the whole point that keeps this suggestion balanced.
And the current idea for the pickaxe already accomplishes a similar effect by giving you a chance at getting diamond from coal ore blocks, you'll save the coal and leave it unmined until you can enchant up a gold pickaxe. The smooth stone is a thought, but cobblestone has as many crafting uses (or more) than smooth stone, whereas gravel currently has no crafting purpose.
Can Magic Furnace be able to craft both Enchanted, and Cursed Items?
The idea is that it's a magical source of energy that can be applied to two opposing elements.
Gold can be used to make light elemental or enchanted items, and maybe monster drop can make dark elemental or cursed items.
Both of these counter each other, inflicting extra damage to each either armor and minimize damage to similar or same armors.
You mean this idea would make it stronger than diamond?
I can't really agree. As awesome as the features are, they still retain the strength and durability of gold, and require the material expense involved in enchanting them that iron and gold don't need. An Enchanted gold pickaxe isn't going to be able to mine gold, iron, or diamond ore. They'll be more powerful for specific tasks, but in general iron and diamond are still going to beat them out.

No Notch changed it so gold is stronger than diamond
