@ boohoo
I think sand would be a better option for blue glass.
1. an impurity in some sand made the first blue glass somewhere in egypt.
2. Nobody in their right mind would use a diamond to make one block of glass no different than regular glass except for its color.
Just wondering, but why do you keep posting 4x4 grids? Are you using a mod that puts 4x4 crafting tables into the game?
Now for something more on topic:
Regarding the slime swamps, maybe they would just increase the chance that a slime would spawn there.

Because I believe we need moar spaces damn it >.< lulz no seriously I was just being lazy and used the wrong template to cut and paste. You got to look past the [] = blank space. I I just cut and pasted an old grid because I'm lazy but if you look at the craft pattern it's the standard 3x3. I just edited above and removed the [] promise not to be so lazy next time lol. On the mod front I personally only use a texture pack in game as I believe there is no point using any other sort of mod - but that's my own personal choice as I enjoy spending hours mining and crafting for finished products. In the case of my 4x4, again I was being lazy *hand smacks self* will improve.
Notch won't make blue glass from sand as sand is used for normal glass and yes I would use diamond to craft a pretty blue glass, why? because my purpose in my worlds is to make aesthetically pleasing environments for myself.
With the swamp, again it's aesthics. Why does something have to have a purpose other then what it is? There is no purpose to a solid gold block or a solid obsidian block - they just are and we craft to turn them into something. If I had a swamp I would craft an old fashion wooden house with maybe a spooky mossy cobblestone cellar and I'd craft a thick forest surounding the area. The swamp wouldn't do anything other then being a different type of water body.
I think at times you're thinking new craft items must do something rather then just be a block.

Build a zombie a fire and you keep him warm one night, set a zombie on fire and you keep him warm the rest of his life.
Gold blocks, although mostly for decoration, do serve the purpose of storing 9 gold ingots.
Obsidian serves the purposes of making portals to the nether, blast shields, and extremely hard wall materials.
edit: and if you're going to make green and blue glass use incredibly rare materials, you might as well complete the set and use a gold ingot for yellow, and redstone dust for red glass.

I like this idea better then mine lol. I would use gold and redstone. Heaps better than flowers.... but I stand by my ham for pink xD
And yes if you view your gold/diamond/iron blocks as storage items then sure they serve a purpose but I only build the blocks to make blocks as I craft storage boxes to hold the loose ore as it stacks.
The obsidian is only those things when you craft it, as I was saying before it's up to you what you do with it as it is just a block.
Glass however is already different as it breaks and can not be salvaged and the idea would remain the same with the color blocks... but that's going OT again lol.

I love pretty much every use that's been thought of here. Slime Balls definitely need some fun uses, and fall-stoppers or bouncy-boots are awesome ideas. Poison system is fantastic and simple.
I have an idea, this could actually go along with the fall damage, or wahtever
[] [] []
[] [] []
Like the snow, and the fall damage negation before
While you walk accross it, it speeds you up, but you slide and are hard to control (moreso than ice even). Boats can even move across it (probably not as fast as in water, but still somewhat usable).
Alternative:
[] [] []
[]
[]
Makes it a full block which does essentially the same thing, but would probably be easier for boats to move through.
Opposite concept is that it is sticky, it slows down entities (like slowsand). You can then place sand or gravel next to it, they won't fall, or maybe put redstone on its sides like the sticky redstone dust idea.

Thanks for all the feedback, positive and negative. It has been amazing to see people's ideas that are way better than I ever thought possible. Question is: Should the slimes be rubbery and slippery, or sticky and hard-to-get-through? Oh well, ideas are based off on both of these.

How about Jell-O (or even Green Mush?) heals 4-7 hearts. It should randomize: as the slime is somewhat rare (not for me though). Simplicity is key for updates. REMEMBER THAT.
Very inspiring ideas, especially on the reducing fall damages. I had a hard time trying to think of anything without involving magic or charms or that sort. Bump so more people can see.

Yea I know what you mean. I had about 10 different ideas, but like 7 of them were too complicated or crazy to explain. So I stuck with the 3 simplest ones I came up with, then added other peoples' ideas.
for the slime/poison sword, the crafting pattern should be:
[>>-i>] = sword, = slime orbs, = stick
[] []
[>>-i>]
[] []
otherwise you are also holding the poisoned part
not sure about the stick though
you could also do:
[] []
[] []
[] []
Yea i'll fix that.
But for the second part, you don't want to be swinging around liquid... now do you?
-ALthough that would be awesome if you could with water... back on track.
that is true... oh well, i think it was a good idea
Off-topic: maybe people Notch should make elemental weapons:
snow (balls or blocks) make ice/freeze weapons, netherstone makes flame weapons, TNT makes weapons with small explosions (doesnt hurt you or enviroment, only mobs), slime makes poison weapons, etc.,
Wow, one of my topics got locked cause of this one, i already saw it, but i was saying MY ideas. jesus.
You can still say YOUR ideas, just add them to this thread instead of spreading them out over hundreds of different threads about the same topic. This not only is better for getting more traction and support for the general idea you're adding to, but also improves the chances of people finding your specific ideas since people are more likely to comment on the larger thread on a subject and not bother bumping something that only has single digit post count to the thread.
