Hello all.
My suggestion for a new block would be a solar Panel
What it would do:
It would be another redstone switch or mechanism. When it has direct contact with sunlight (Note: Sunlight, not torchlight.) it would serve as a binary switch for redstone circuits.

What it could be used for:
It could be used for locks for dungeons, or anything you dont want to be accessible at night (Or day).
This could also be used as a more complex minecart system, so you go one way during the day, the other at night.

Haha, this is ironic, because I have no idea how redstone works... It's all very confusing for me. :]

Anyway, I like this idea a lot, actually. It could also be placed on top of furnaces or combined with them some how to make one that doesn't require fuel.

Ya, manmade, and That is a good idea as well as to how its made, Ill add that as a possibility
Using it on furnaces could work i guess, not sure about that.

I like it. it's more like a photo-sensor than a solar panel though.

Yeah it really is more like a light detector.

Ok, maybe it could act as a battery?

Light sensitive blocks that trigger redstone are already confirmed.
