Hi guys, I have a couple suggestions for tweaking the graphics and gameplay, as well as my reasons for them:
Weather Density: An option, much like the Render Distance option, which allows multiple levels for snowfall density (And other weather which may be implemented in the future.) My backing for this is such: My computer can run Minecraft on Far distancing in both small and full screen, but when I play a winter-themed map in full screen, the large amount of snowflakes to render means I can't play it on far anymore. This option would determine how many snowflakes fall per block to help speed up the game on winter maps. This ties into the next suggestion:
Dynamic settings: Settings for render distance, graphics styles (Fast or fancy) and the above weather density stick based on whether the window is maximized or running in the default window. That way in a small window, the game could play on all high settings but in a maximized window, the player could set the options to default at whatever makes the game run smoothly.
Minimap: Completely unrelated to the first two, the inventory menu could display a small map of the surrounding area which rotates based on where you face. This would be extremely helpful in complex mine/cave systems. Somewhat obviously, the map would have to only show lit areas when underground so to prevent the player from instantly knowing everything around them.
Input appreciated!
