I had some ideas for the game. I don't expect them to be implemented as I suspect they would only interest the fringe of the players, but I thought I'd throw them out. So let's start.
#1: A hunger meter or some kind of indication of NEEDING to eat(and maybe drink even). The thing I love about this game is that it really is survival, and the three basic parts of survival are shelter, food, and water. Minecraft has the shelter down pat and in spades, but I would like to see the other parts expanded upon for a true survival experience. Which leads me to the next point...
#2: Death. Yes, yes, I know you can die. Once all ten little hearts are gone you go *poof* and have to run all the way back. But short of the marathon run later in the game, there's no penalties for death. No penalties though means no incentive to fear or try to avoid it. Anyone can pick up a wooden sword and charge headlong into a pile of creepers to take them all out in one glorious explosion, but if that act of self sacrifice were to, say, take a heart off your max, you might think twice.
Then there's my current play style. My games, just to make it a bit more intense, I play "True" survival. It's a one shot game and if I die my save gets deleted. Now I'm not sure HOW this would be implemented, however if it was I think it could be worked into the game the same way another game I love(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wizardry_8) did with the inclusion of an "Iron Man" mode that disabled saving except when exiting to give the players actions a more serious consequence.
Again, I'm not totally sure how to handle these. The hunger/thirst could be a simple timer; the death...I'll throw something up if I come up with it. But something to maybe consider for the more hardcore players out there.
Only one suggestion per thread and the first has already been suggested. Use search.
Better than half the forums I post in the search does not yeild accurate results. I've learned not to trust it. I did a quick search through the topics though and didn't find one like it, so if there is, great, more support for it, and if there isn't or it's been buried somewhere, here it is again.
As far as only one suggestion per thread I wasn't aware of that, but it's a bit late now. I'll keep it in mind for future topics though.
