I see threads on the wishlist forum that have been told to go to the suggestion forum, even though they have more than one suggestion. So I'm not sure which forum I need to post this in. If this belongs in wishlist, tell me and I'll move this thread over there.
Anyway, here are some features that I'd like to see in Minecraft eventually.
MINECRAFT SUGGESTIONS:
1. Chickens should drop chicken meat when slain. In raw form, it heals as much as raw pork, and when cooked it heals as much as cooked pork.
2. Beef can be acquired from a slain cow. Raw and cooked healing properties are same as pork. Beef and chicken are just to break the monotony of eating only pork. Put some variety in what you put in your belly!
3. The cloth dropped by a slain sheep can be used to make wool clothing/armor.
4. Eggs should become a healing item. Perhaps cooking them in the oven makes a “fried egg” and heals even more hearts. I suppose omelettes, which have been confirmed for a future update, would be this.
5. There should drinkable liquids that heal your hearts. This includes water, tea, coffee, alcohol (with drunken effects if you have enough), apple juice (which you can craft from water and apples), etc. You should also be able to drink milk to refill your hearts, if this isn’t on the agenda already.
6. If milk becomes a healing item, it can be cooked in an oven to acquire cheese. Never mind, I saw “cheese” under Confirmed Final Updates. I would assume cooking milk makes cheese, but maybe Notch has other ideas.
7. Milk can be acquired from sheep as well as cows.
8. There should be beds that you can craft from wooden planks (the frame), wood blocks (the posts), and sheep cloth (blanket and pillow.) A small bed can be put next to another small bed to make a large bed, just like small to large chests. You can rest in them to pass the time and to gradually refill your hearts. The heart refill rate should be extremely slow (if at all) to keep players from sleeping all day to refill hearts. That would be too easy. You must find food if you want to heal! Again, beds might be included in the “furniture” update in the future. I hope they do!
9. Gloves should be possible to craft out of various materials (leather, cloth, iron, etc.) and can be worn as hand protection. I got this idea because my character lives in a snowy cold world and has bare hands. I need gloves to keep her hands warm!
10. There should be a female voice (the grunt noise when you lose hearts) that you can use to be more feminine if you are using a female skin.
11. A user can upload a file on their computer and use it as a painting in the game. Let’s say you have a .jpg of Notch on your computer. If you craft a painting, hang it on a wall, and right-click it, a window pops up in which you can browse for, and subsequently upload, the Notch picture to that painting’s canvas. This may conflict with the game’s pixilated nature, but I would like to see it happen somehow.
12. Pressing the tab key goes through your inventory hotkey slots, 1 through 9, and selects them for use. I find I have a finger near the tab key, which is near the "w" key. It would be easier sometimes to hit tab a few times instead of moving my entire hand to hit the other keys, like 8 and 9, which are far from the tab key.
I know some of these ideas are already on the slate, but I wanted to post how I think they might be crafted or made with alchemy. I hope to see these updates someday!
