Pretty simple of an idear, me thinks. Allow us to craft an Armor Stand from, say Wood/wooden blocks. We could show off our armor without having to wear it around and risk losing it! I love my Gold Armor...But I don't wanna lose it since I really enjoy the look. But I'd like to show it off still! Like, in my castle, or in my armory or something. :smile.gif:

I will go where no Creeper has ever exploded before...Venture where no spider can slip through...Hike to heights far greater than the range of a skeleton's arrows...And befriend not a single slime...In this world we call Minecraft.
The Dummy Bust has one slot for ChestPlate, one slot for Helmet (and one slot for shield, if ever implemented)

The Glass Bust has one slot for ChestPlate, one slot for Helmet (and one slot for shield, if ever implemented) Because it is made from glass, it is all but invisible, and perfect for displaying a helmet, chestplate or sword as a stand alone piece.

having it in 2 pieces makes more sense from a block perspective, since a normal person is 2 blocks high, any armor you should display should also be 2 blocks high. This also allows you to just display half sets of armor or less without it looking as weird or taking up as much space. If you want the full set, you just need to build both halves, Since they're only made from Wood or glass, they're not that expensive.
I really really love this idea guys, who here has made a castle before?
If you have or you want to, who agrees that having suits of iron armor standing around your castle would help create an awesome feel.
We already have some decorations, but i believe this would take them to a higher level, allowing us to customize our decorations. I dont believe it would be too hard to implement, as it would be a cross between an npc and a chest?
I just realized that for a display piece, the Weapon should be stored on the dummy BOTTOM block. That will let it display the weapon or tool resting point down in front of the armor, but also let it double as a pure weapon display stand if all you place in it is the tool. (any potential shield slot would be moved to the dummy bust block)

Right now the image in my mind is a Sword in stone, Similar to the Master Sword in the temple of time from OoT

Basically, but not actually pressed down into the ground, only with the tip just barely touching the ground.
Wht's the point when it can be included with the armor stand? After all, a number of armor displays also have the suit displaying a weapon at the same time. That way if you want the sword as a standalone piece, just use the Glass Bottom so that it will display the sword, but not the dummy.
I like this idea, with armour just sanding there, I think you should be able to use alchemy to turn it into a guard for your castle, acting as a zombie that targets zombies instead of you. also:

This is a great idea. I do however think this should be built in two pieces like the second post. You can stack them one on top of the other to get the complete set. The right-click to swap your armor for what is on the stand would help a lot. The weapon stand would be harder to do because it is what you hold, not a specific slot like the armor. It would be handy to have by a cave you need to explore or to decorate. Overall this would be a great addition to Minecraft.

I mean I really, really like this.
We should do this.

Big block for helmet, mid sticks create cross piece that holds breast plate, lower portion gives stability and place to mount pants, boots just stand.
I like that one click transfer idea, it should probably open an inventory, too.
