First of all, your Dragon model is an absolute grace to my eyes, you have done incredible things while still keeping the minecraft feel, and sticking to your shape restrictions.
The ideas I had just now for the dragon were:
1) When you walk past its cave you are alerted my a breath of fire out of the cave entrance if it is agressive.
2) If you do happen to steal a dragons egg, you have to keep it near lava for it to hatch, once it hatches, you can raise said dragon by feeding it pork and such, and then use this dragon as a form of air transport once it has matured enough, colour and such can vary slightly based on how well you raise it, furthering from this it could have an affect on its behaviour.
Above idea is just a concept but I think it'd be pretty awesome.
One thing I ask is that you keep making such amazing models, lovin the monsters :biggrin.gif:
Man, there should be smaller dragons in caves, and these larger dragons on mountains.
Flying around the mountain.
Lookin' all epic and ****. So if you have fog set on "far, you'd see a mountain in the distance, with a ****ing dragon flying in circles around the mountain. You'd be like OMG, and when you're ready you'd be all like LETS TAKE THIS F-CKER DOWN and run to the mountain, and be all like **** that thing is huge.
ectasy
also, maybe the mountain should have "plenty" of and and and and REDSTONE and stuffs.
I think the original health stats listed are good, because dragons to me really seem like the kind of thing you need a raiding party to fight. That still leaves the issue of what to do for single player, but...

What use is an ear that does not hear, or a mouth that does not speak?
Looks pretty good. I just hope they add whelps and other Dragon models. When you add Dragons into the game I don't think you can do the species justice with just one model, there is somewhat of a growth cycle they go though.
And yeah, I can just see myself exploring a cave and SUDDENLY FIREBALLS OH CRAPCRAPCRAP CREEPER! CRAAAA-*Boom*
But yeah, I liked the nest suggestion on page one. I think it'd be cool if you could steal eggs to use in crafting and general messery.
For example: Dragon Egg Omlette.
Another example should wait until we know how chicken raising will be implemented, but I really like the idea of hatching the eggs and using the dragons to guard my fortress.
That is awesome, but i hate those wings ... Try to make em look like regular dragon/bat wings...
Like I said above, wings are the most difficult part. The only way I can really get em to look proper is to add another joint. If I make them taller, when they fold they'll clip through the floor and nearby walls, and if I add another joint, I'm increasing the block count even more. So it's sort of like being caught between a rock and a hard place... also they're supposed to be bent, but of course, making the membrane with blocks if they're like that is extremely difficult, but I'll see what I can do.

Yea, I was thinking the same thing, resizing one model wouldn't quite fit the bill I don't think...

Still, it doesn't mean players can't make emergency holes by DIGGING DOWN!
1) Take egg
2) Dig down IMMEDIATELY!
3) Dig your way out of the danger zones...
Or
You "could" calculate it mathematically, and dig your way to the egg from the underground.
Lairs are made of double-layered obsidian. Case closed.

****, she sure is dedicated to getting her egg back.
Spot on, this is what would happen if you try to steal it and leave. I updated the main post with egg related behavior and what the eggs would be used for, in my opinion...

Excellent, I can just picture it now. Survival multiplayer, two clans engaged in war. One organizes a massive expedition to the highest mountain to retrieve the eggs. They lose a few men but in the end, they reap their reward by raining fire and arrows upon the enemies.
Make it a little smaller... Not that big, not 3-4 times the size- 5 times is good I think... BUT * thats a nice dragon! ALso... Is it even possible to kill a dragon with those stats??? YOu'd need full diamond or steel armor at least!!!!!
I just thought of something... You could (LOL) ride up to the dragons cave... on a pig!!!! (That's right, the heroic knight charges up the mountain to slay the dragon)
Another thing- the Dragon should definitely live in a cave, but also the cave should be IN a mountain... (Wyverns fly no matter what, but other types of dragons if there are can only glide and can barely fly) <----- That part isn't really a suggestion, just a comment. The point is, they should live on mountaineous regions, and one other thing that you unfortunately missed:
As I know, European dragons (the typical type, four legged ones that breath fire and kill everything in sight) these types love to .... (Guess what) HOARD GOLD AND RICHES!!!! So if you kill it, you also get its treasure? Neat, eh?
Last thing, I promise: Considering we have European dragons, perhaps we could implement Chinese dragons? They love water, and it would be cool to see a sea serpent and a Chinese Dragon fight! (I like both though, so any outcome of that would be a loss :sad.gif: ) Hope you aren't too angry with me posting such a large post...
They should try to raid the player's stashes of gold, diamonds, and other valuable minerals and item, ideally by smashing their way into the player's fortress.

This man really is a genius. Never have i seen such a clear and well written forum post.
Wow, with our current maximum health, we die really quickly when dealing with these dragons, especially when we just started on a new world and met one mature dragon. But I must say, GREAT IDEA! :biggrin.gif:
Hypothetically, dragons will be in caves, so all you would need are tools to dig through the roof and some to drop on its head.
If they ever put in shields it could be made so that you can block its fire-breath like Sleeping Beauty or something boooooosh

Gold and diamonds are officially, as of now, dragon bait.

(You'd doubtlessly need a lot of it)
I think there should defiantly be different coloured dragons, green, red, blue, ect., leading to (if there is) different coloured Dragon armor. Also, the colour should be coordinated to the dragon's aggressiveness/size/health/damage dealt in the classic Dungeons and Dragons style ie Red, Green, White and Blue dragons are more aggressive ect. Copper bronze, silver, and gold dragons would be less aggressive ect. And subsequently more aggressive dragons have better loot.
Black dragons would be the biggest and the meanest and only spawn in hell mode. These dragons would attack everything in sight and even burn down crops/forests (if there are trees in hell mode) just for the fun of it. If you do manage to kill a Black dragon and get to it's nest there should be the possibility of the baby black dragons already hatching. They, of course, would be aggressive and attack you. However, after going through all the trouble of conquering the black dragon (and possibly the kids) the reward would be enormous. Maybe something like tools stronger than diamond that can't be crafted, diamonds, and lots of gold of course.
Which gave me another idea. Specialty Black Dragon saddles. These wouldn't require you to tame the dragon but you would have to somehow damage it and hop on it's back. Perhaps you might even be able to control it's fire breathing. I can just picture super epic fire-breathing dragon air battles.

Hey, if you go to that much trouble for a single egg, then you've earned it.
Now, getting a breeding pair from two nests would be less easy, espically if nests only spawned on absurdly high location or absurdly low ones.

Dragons need to be implemented. No arguments.
Can't fly without wings. I'm working on a new wing design right now anyways.
