At the very least, I feel I should have the weakest and strongest material for each item. That would cut down the length pretty well. i think what I might do is make it so only the crafting recipes are shown, and not the results, I'll have to see if I can do that and still have it look okay. I think I will cut out the mention of the shields.
i think []
that they should cook faster then a because they use a and a to cook 1 meat and that they should and they should work like a that only cooks food and cooks food faster and uses for fuel
it comes with one
also can a make i a form on the mod page so people can make t his also this idea is
i like. alot. you, my friend, actually have good ideas, unlike me along with 90% of the forums. i just wish notch would listen to people ideas more often.
You do realize that I've edited the main post about 5 million times since that guy posted that, right? I didn't originally have hatchets. I didn't originally include them since you can do everything an axe can do bare handed. Even a shovel can dig snow, which can't be done by hand. The only reason I added them was in support of the saplings->sticks->wood recipes along with log blocks requiring axes to mine.
I know that it is a little late, but how about having logs drop sticks if you don't use an axe/hatchet?
Also, great ideas I give you 5/5 diamond blocks and one adminium

Okay, I've tweaked the banner a bit. I took out the full shields so that there isn't as much flicker, and cut all of the wood/stone/gold/iron/diamond recipes down to just wood/diamond, and then also slowed things down just a tad. The main thing for me was that I got the size down small enough that if it's the only thing in your signature, it will fit without making a scroll bar appear.

With that I was thinking (if you implement "logs can only be cut with an ax"),
have leaves drop sticks every time they don't drop saplings.
And a new idea for the 2x2 grid: sharp stick (couldn't think of a better name)

can break any block a wooden tool could break (and takes just as much time) but is 1 time use. It counts as a "preferred" tool for what ever you choose to break with it, so counts as an ax for wood, a pick for stone, a shovel for dirt, and a sword for mobs (but remember it is 1 time use!)
This allows you to get logs for wood and a crafting table.

I once saw a chicken push a creeper off of a cliff. I never looked at chickens the same way ever again. That is of course until I needed feathers.
but for the knife thing why not just have it crafted like this?
[]
[]
so its like the sword also i think they should be stack-able if they are gonna be throwing knifes as well, or maybe add throwing knifes to your ideas and take throwing away from these knifes cause there is no point in throwing them if you have to find another in your inventory...

1) That's the recipe for the Trowel. Though I have to admit, it would be tempting to change shovel to:
and then have the trowel as:
2) It's been discussed why they wont be stackable. Namely interference with the durability meter. It's been pretty thoroughly shown to not be feasible.
This is the best thing I've seen for a while. The only part I don't like is the having to use a axe to chop down logs. I know it gives a purpose to the axes family but it's...... To complicated.

The part you really need to think about; is it really that complicated? or do you just think it is because you "grew up" with being able to mine logs directly in minecraft?
I have support for this, the 2x2 tools would be good retrieval tools, say when you die in a mine and you need a quick weapon to go get your stuff. I think Notch should pay attention to this, I have played this game since its release; and I always thought the 2x2 had no real use outside of first crafting until the workbench.
This is a great idea but why would you want to have to have the hatchet to break trees? When you first start the game to need to get wood to get sticks to then make whatever small tools you wanted to make.
[Edit] just saw that the sapling recipe made sticks. but you would still need to get wood to make the hatchet or a hand pick to get more valuable resources. But none the less, i still want this :smile.gif:

3) The stacking wouldn't be as much of an issue if minecraft implemented auto re-equip items of same type when another in inventory. but even without it.
