Nearly everything in Minecraft has durability. Blocks, armor, swords, tools, etc. The missing component is the bow. I am suggesting a tiered system. The current 'simple' bow is the lowest tier, with a low power, and low durability (say, 120 uses.)
Next up is the crossbow:
ore ore
(Spiders=string)
For each tier, the top two rows and the center of the bottom row will be the same. The ores in the bottom corners will have to be the same, but they will be tiered like the other tools/weapons in the game.
The tiers will go in this order:
Wood (150 uses)
Cobble/Stone (175)
Iron (200)
Gold (75)
Diamond (500)
As for the actual damage for these tiers, they will be as follows:
(These numbers are subject to change)
Bow (1.5 hearts)
Wood (1.5 hearts)
Cobble/Stone (2 hearts)
Iron (2.5 hearts)
Gold (1.5 hearts)
Diamond (4 hearts)
As you get higher and higher in the tiers, the speed of the arrows will go faster and faster. This will make the arrows more precise, as gravity will have less time to move it before impact.
Thanks for reading, and if you have any suggestions, please leave a reply, and I will try to get back to you shortly!

NO. Don't click New Thread. Read the rules. I don't give a damn how long or boring they are. If you do not, you will be subject to massive flaming and criticism by yours truly.
Oh so those diamond tools are exactly the same as the wood ones...
Oh wait, you just fail.
I don't think the idea is needed.

I see. We should take out all types of pickaxes and just stick with "Pickaxe"
