I thought of an awesome way to block people from editing a certain spot in multiplayer, first, make a diamond globe

[] [] ---> x1 globes
[] []

if you place a globe, then 3 spaces away in every direction cannot be edited by other players besides yourself
well, what if you want a way to allow certain people to edit or what if you want certain people to open chests and certain people to not, well, right click the globe and there will be settings to set who can do what
well,what if I find it annoying to do that to every single globe, well, you will be able to save 16 presets (or 8 if thats to much for notch)
well, I don't like globes hanging around all over the place, well, make a Mega-globe which goes for 6 spaces in every direction

Possible problems with this idea :
1) blocking the spawn point
2) TNT (which I would recommend that you make your territory larger than wanted)

Please add on to my idea or change if you don't like some things, but I think this would work well for creating clubs, banks, businesses etc. somewhat easily, yet costs a decent amount
and yes I am aware that there are programs that can do this, but not normal players can't do it, and the programs don't do it as well as if it were programmed in here by notch

It's not like you can put a limit to how many you can set down or stuff..............

no need to get all upset.. They were just pointing out how it is abuseable.. so you need to alter the idea a little to try to make it not abuseable. The Idea isn't terrible

if it applied to player created items (planks/cobble stone and so on) not dirt and trees rocks and so on.. - then griefers can't grief with it placed by destroying your house but at the same time they can't block off resources either.

also the use of diamonds makes it hard to spam anyways..

yeah, sorry, I thought of this idea, and posted it, and then it flew by the 1st page in a minute and I was trying to get a post in it and then they said it's a bad idea, i think it was mainly just the person that said "bad idea " and not explain why at all

I want to protect my base realistically, like crafting a automatic bow or making traps, not placing some hard coded block in and disabling everyone from editing the terrain...

yeah, true... maybe when you make a sever then it could be an option if you wanted them or not

OOH maybe you could do something kinda like paying taxes, like, it would last 2 minecraft days, but you would need to put in something to make it last longer
-> 2 days
-> 1 day
this would make it less likely to be placed all over and it would go away eventually if it was placed all over
and it would add more use to the gold

and you are unable to place a globe 10 spaces next to the spawn point

Am I the only one who sees how easy it would be to exploit this? Just build a wall around whoever you want to grief and place a couple of these. It's worse than without them, because you can effectively remove an area from the game.

yeah, I get it it's a stupid idea, FINE, people quit posting in it so it can die, I regret posting it now and I hate myself for doing so...
I just need to get an admin to delete it...

well, I figured that the more an idea is suggested then the more likely it will be put on, and besides this is my own version of the idea

and I learned to not post "game-changing" ideas, just simple little improvments

this could work
1: make it so if you need to delete those blocks you cna, but it gives you a preset path that exist you as fast as possible
2: only affects your blocks
3: recources sre not affected
