Hi every one, this is my first post.
I did a seach, didnt find any thing about this sort of thing so I thought I would ask/suggest/what ever.
Is there any plans on allowing people to craft "mini" blocks? such as breaking down wooden blocks to make even smaller blocks that can we be used to make chairs, tables, beds, that sort of thing?
1 wooden block breaks down into 27 mini wooden cubes for example.
building a 3x3x3 mini block cube would turn it back into a normal sized block.
Also, I could build "fake" people to stand around my town that way.

I would assume that when you look at the side of a normal block with the mini-block inhand you see a grid on the block. like you do with normal blocks now only a smaller grid.
I dont know any thing about programming or that kind of stuff. It was just a thought I had when trying to make a chair.

The currently engine wouldn't support this, maybe if someday in the future notch start the engine from scratch.
The closer you can get to this for now is to make your character giant so every block look smaller (With the currently engine, dunno if there is some hack that do that.)
It seems like a nice idea, but you need to keep something in mind: You are increasing the resolution of the game. This brings up so many implications, it's hard to keep track of them all.
It doesn't seem like a bad idea, but we should definitely go over some of the implications before moving forward.

Yeah, I had the same idea (although i think 2x2x2=1 block would be better). I was thinking shovels/pickaxes/axes would remove full blocks, and hand/chisel/(carving)knife would remove miniblocks. Only full size blocks could be collected/placed, which would then be reduced to whatever shape you want made of miniblocks. Whenever you destroy a miniblock, i was thinking, nothing would drop UNLESS you destroyed the last miniblock in a block's area.

i can imangine alot of bugs like the regular blocks changing into small ones :ohmy.gif: other than that i support
