bringing food is a necessity, and not luxury, its about choice of carrying less with you to make room for the unevitable glad-i-brought food.
stacking food and weapons and tools would make this game waay to easy when contemplating importance of the different groups.
Simple solution. Food could heal over ~30-60 seconds instead of instantly, and healing speed would not stack. Eating more food would just extend the time you heal.

this would be a solution to what excatly?
I simply do not support the notion that food should be stackable :tongue.gif:
Look at your ham, now back at me, now back at your ham, now back to ME. Sadly, you cannot be me, But if you were like me, then you probably want to be able to craft together nine ham slices and create ham blocks. Look down, back up, where are you? You're on a boat with the ham your ham could be like. What's in your hand? Back at me, I have it, it's a cobblestone block that looks like the president. Look again, the cobblestone is now DIAMOND. Anything is possible when your ham is cubed into one meter blocks and not strewn across your inventory.
LOL. This is just too hilarious to disagree with, ham blocks are awesome.
no, live piggies only.
No. That's not funny.
If you build a house with them, a creeper explosion will cook your house.
Craft with a bread block above and below it to make a block sandwich.
Wash it down with a milk bucket block.
Buoyant.
If you leave them out to rot, you can collect them as meatballs and throw them like snowballs.
Watch out for pigs. You don't want these valuable items to be eaten.
Zombies will gladly accept these as peace offerings.
You'll never run out of paint thinner again.
