Its useless these seeds they do nothing so whats the point of haveing them if it doesn't change anyting!
Seed properties change with biome size and version changes. If someone has a cool seed in say, I,6,4 default, it won't look the same in 1.7.10 large biomes. Same version large biomes may be similar enough to the default spawn to be equally interesting. I like sharing my good fortune with others who may be interested in what I've found. I also like to try others finds in new versions, like 1.7.4 Multiplayer, because I like large plains for running herds of horses, but also discovered cool arching mountains with interesting cliff faces in 1.7.10.
Also, if you recreate the same world several times, you will spawn in several different places close to the same spot, I like using word seeds because they're easier to remember and pass on. Try some of your own. If you find something interesting, let us know.
Will a seed produce largely the same planet if it is run on vanilla as it will on say "Tekkit Lite" mod? I realize that, many of the mods in the tekkit lite pack add many new blocks (trees, plants, ores, animals, etc.,etc.) so obviously the seed must not be interpreted exactly the same. But will the topography, and physiography (configuration of land surfaces, continents, basic stratigraphy, etc.) of the two seeds be basically the same?
I'm guessing that what a seed will produce is really only predictable if it is used with the exact same build of the game?
Reason being: I found a seed that seemed beloved by a number of vanilla players and ran it on Tekkit Lite, and the description of the physical setting of the spawn that these players were giving didn't match with where I spawned at all. It did prove to be a fun map (until I fell into a pit of lava and my "dead is dead" ethic finally wore down my interest in respawning yet again).
If I want "good" seeds that are specifically for a Tekkit Lite mod (JC Lite specifically) I wonder if there are threads or anything that would list those?
ADDIT: Ah well, this post seems to answer most of my questions:
