Hey all, I'm hosting a local server on my PC to pay with my roommate and I'm trying to figure out what the seed is. When I use the "/seed" command in the chat, it tells me it's an incomplete or unknown command. I did some digging online and found a thread that recommended using NBTExplorer to look at the files for the server, but there isn't a "random seed" file or anything indicating a seed.
I've never hosted a server like this before and I apologize for any confusion I cause.
What are my other option for finding the seed if the command and NBTExplorer don't work?
In a remote server, you must be operator to use the /seed command.
Use the /seed command in the server console (if you started with -nogui, you still have a console open somewhere, check the cmd window if the server is local).
After this, you can use the /op command to a player you trust (yourself?) to be able to use commands from a regular minecraft game.

Did you test the seed command in the console?
Which Minecraft version do you use?
With the NBT Editor, check for the RandomSeed
In 1.16 and newer, take a look at
level.dat/Data/WorldGenSettings/
1.15 and older at
level.dat/Data/
