The world generator keeps on generating the same thing over and over. Well, not every time.
The world generator keeps generating a world that is too flat, less or no mountains and also too much trees.
In 1.7.3, not just the world generator generates cool and awesome seed but also a lot of space and in that space, there might be 5 or 10 trees which makes it better.
In 1.0.0, it just change. There would be many spaces to build but there are no trees. Look at this.
There are trees but it looks like it is separating itself. Like one side = no trees. The other side = trees.
Now, the picture below is the problem. It just generates too much of this kind.
Too much trees and flat land, less coolness.
Not to be rude about it but I just get pissed up when it generates me this kind of world.
I know that people disagree about this but I just feel that it needs to be talked about.
It's called biomes. The flat one is plains, so obviously there wouldn't be any trees. And a swamp with few trees would be really boring. A forest without trees would also be really boring. The idea is to give you very different areas, with different climate, vegetation etc. to make gameplay and exploring more fun. IMO, it is :biggrin.gif:
I understand what you mean but I want a survival world. I want to build houses in my survival world but it seems that the world they give doesn't really suit it. Thats all I want.

Then keep walking till you find the biome you want, sound like you want the mountain biome &
There's this one too.

It has mountains, oceans, plains, forests, swamps, and huge surface canyons all over. There's even a crisscross surface canyon one under the other that goes right down to lava pool level. play it in hardcore mode and its a something of a challenge, just don't be a wimp and hide in your house all the time.
Watch your step you can be sprinting through a plain and suddenly have a canyon smack in front of you.
//Edit you want a tough survival world try putting "island" as your seed a little tiny island vast ocean no trees enjoy.
HEY GUYS IS THIS A COINCIDENCE OR WHAT! TYPE IN easteregg (all one word) as a seed and it spawns u next 2 a wicked cave right on the verge of a desert and a forest! its awsm! but do it on peaceful cos i dont know if there are creepers or anything! :blink.gif: so youll need some TNT!!!
People keep saying BIOMES! But this really simple argument is extremely invalid.
Biomes aren't supposed to be so restricted that tree densities are all the same in the same type of biome. I agree with you OP, it is frustrating and bland to see that tree densities are very uniform.
I liked how prior 1.8, the terrain generator created more varied and interesting terrain than it does now. Nowadays, all forests look the same, all mountains look the same, and etc. By this I mean, in all forests, you'll see the same amount of trees as in another forest.
I hate how tree densities are completely restricted to their individual biomes. It's too bland, it's too predictable.
Seed: lost. This spawns you in a mushroom island.
Seed: poobumwilly. Spawns you on lava. TROLLLOLOLOL
Although there are some cool seeds, i hate the seed generator and the biome chunks.
I know wut u mean i hate the new world generator in 1.7.3 like almost every random ass seed you typed in there was a part of the world (idk if this would count as a biome) that had those epic floating islands. I loved 1.7.3
