I'm starting to build but it is going to take some time to have this complete. I've already scoped out another spot for more building. Love this map!
This is where I have started building. I plan to make an entire city here then move to my next location and connect those, move connect, etc. :smile.gif:
Wow, good work guys! That area is actually called Hawkeye Heights, named after Hawkeye who found it. It is the most beautiful place yet discovered on this map according to my opinion. If anyone would like to visit, it is marked at the map.
Solar - please post some of the pictures with not everyone bother to follow links...
I've made a nice house inside one of the cliffs. I've got a tree farm on top of it, a wheat, reed and cactus farm, living quarters (currently only has a bed) a nice storage area and a strip mine.
Sorry for spamming but I am so SUPEREXITED!!! I am going to fetch my new laptop now! I will be able to play with the best settings, on full screen and return from the Nether without dying!!! And make videos! XD
I think I've found a pretty big lake. However it is beyond the northern edge of the map so I can't really compare it to other big lakes. It's around x-1650 z80.
I used this seed a month ago and have been searching for el Pumpkin ever since! I just used a seed checker and it said my seed is in fact -617159710, which is still a pretty sweet floating world. Any ideas what may have happened to change my seed?

When you enter a seed to generate the world, if you enter anything other than a number, Minecraft interprets it as a string and creates a number hash from the string. So, when you entered the seed, you likely either entered a space, a tab, or a carriage return/line break by mistake, and it then generated a different world seed.

The current base map was created with Cartograph (I believe), and If someone makes a new Cartograph snapshot, I'd be glad to extend the map up there (or in any direction, for that matter). I'm on a Mac, so don't have access to Cartographer, plus I'm doing the map coding itself, so someone else contribute the Cartographer map base
Also, since Cartographer exports transparent PNGs, if you want to contribute to expanding the map, you don't need to explore everything that's already been explored; I can merge your map with the existing map, just adding the new parts.
860, since you've already explored up that far, if you are on a PC and can create a Cartographer snapshot of your map, that would be great. And CrazyCat, if you have your save including exploring out to the Litter Box you discovered, please make a Cartograph snapshot of that too. If either of you can't get Cartograph to work, if you archive and upload your save file, I'm sure someone else can run an export on it.

i started building a train station thing, i wanted to have a little system that would join all the cool areas together and i thought id build the first station out of brick since there is sooooo much clay everywhere in this world
well i started building it and im not even half way through ive run out of bricks! i had almost a whole double chest full of clay, but it sure doesnt turn into very many bricks >< im off to find more clay now :sleep.gif:
Need to explore some to find a place to name after myself! XD

Small suggestion, a top down perspective so that it is possible to tell the pumpkin is floating may get more clicks.

Here's a few shots.
My house in the cliff.. just started boring out one of the mountains. I have a farm up on top, and a couple exits on each side.
My friendly mob spawner. Ready for 1.4 when I can go in there with a wolf and kill everything :tongue.gif:
