I think I might actually have something useful for you this time around! I was running around to the different pumpkin patches when I found a Steve Co. Supply Crate at co-ord's: -440, 540.
Hope this one is actually accurate and not just a completely random spawn in seed.
Also, not sure if anyone has stumbled across this yet, but...

Close to a clay deposit is a deep shaft that leads to a significant cavern system deep enough to have gold and lapis lazuli winking at you from the walls, along with multiple water and lava sources. The thing that makes this cave system stand out, however, is its natural "foyer". As you reach the bottom of the innitial shaft, you enter a roomy, cirmetrical/circular cave. I filled in a few blocks with dirt and it was perfect. The far wall leads to the rest of the system. It's not particularly stunning, or anything, but I thought it was sort of neat.
Since I am starting over I thought I would check this out. Amazing thank you for telling us about this. I dug in the cave right beside this one and never noticed it on my map before I lost everything. I think I will start here this time. Anyone wanting a great cave system with a supply room already made, this is a great one! Take ladder material. The first drop takes away four hearts but after that you can just dig down until you reach the foyer area which isn't far. I am inside the area right now and the coords are:
x: -11.977
y: 41.62
z: -156
I am down 17 levels from topside. This puts you right in the room. :smile.gif:
Holy crap that is amazing. It's like some anchient dwarven ruins. I can't believe no one's ever found that before as it's so close to the spawn. I've spelunked the cave right next to it but never went to that one since it was such a long fall.
There is a TON of coal, iron, red stone, gold, diamonds, lava, obsidian Lapis lazuli and more caverns than you can explore. I am at level 11 and I have to keep going to my supply area to empty out my inventory. :smile.gif:
GRAAAAAHHH! One more reason to make me ever more angry at the fact that I cannot play Minecraft of my molasses-slow computer anymore! Nice seed though, I'll write it down so I can try it out later! I think we have found our "Glacier" 2.0! Iron for you!
Been playing this map for a while and I'm very attached to the time spent on my constructs. Yet, I have an urge to update for a few canine buddies. Anyone know where any "true" forests or tiagas are (considering the wolves only spawn there)? I've investigated quite a bit looking for one (and was a little saddened when not only did I not see a lick of snow on the google map, but that I've traveled quite a ways off of the available map in my own futile searches). So far rainforest, deserts, and savannah is all I've been able to discern (why do all of the forests look the same? I can't tell the difference...). Any help would be appreciated and in return I'll post pix of my builds (though don't get your hopes up on the quality. I've only been playing for about a month and I've never done much of anything other than surfing and essays on my computer before). If I have to go 200,000,000 blocks out I will but I'd rather stay within a minecraft day or two of my base.

I am building my mansion at Scorched Plains, next to Shallow Pond. So far I have seen more than 15 wolfs here altogheter, they came in to my garden. I only had a few bones so only 2 of the cuties are in my care now. I have also seen 2-4 of them at diffrent occations around El Pumpkin. No need to get far or even look for them, just be patient.
My own luck with the wolves had me see a pack of wolves on day 1, and during night 1 I got some bones, and sense then I've not seen any wolves. :sad.gif:
Nevermind, found some snow, lol. I misinterpreted the map. Is that the tiniest tiaga in minecraft? My Notch, I was staring at the coordinates and almost missed it, lulz. Looks like I can update to 4.1 now. And thanks for the info, the one spot I found is still quite a distance. Pix for my mistake:
entrance statue to my house, tanooki?
graffiti I installed on the mountain
livestock room (thanks to tamable animals mod, yay baby animals!!!)
tiny underground hydroponics off of my lab/specimen room
underground lab/specimen room
more random blue cows
Trying for a desolate, desperate, yet thriving survivor I guess. Would've shown more but I'm fighting with my paintings at the moment. Sorry to burden you guys with this mess, lol. Suggestions are appreciated (and rooms are small, due to the fact I'm trying to preserve the map. It's just too damn pretty)
Things still in the works: walkthrough aquarium, minecart tunnels, underground lab, and evil match to tanooki (wario tanooki?)... plus like everything else...
Mods: mo creatures, coral reefs, more trees, wild grass, zombe's mod, baby animals, fancy pack's expanded farming, fancy pack's stained glass, and glimmer's steampunk texture pack... I think that's it...

You have a lot of exciting ideas and builds. Please continue post pictures when new builds are done.

This needs to go on the map.
Added as "Pook's Pit". Here's a pic of the entrance, with the deep shaft on the left. However, you can see that there's another cave entrance right next to it (to the West; its hidden under a tree on the map) that looks like it's a more gradual decline.
It doesn't actually meet up with the foyer beneath the shaft on the left, but there's a good reason to take a brief trip down it on your way to the shaft:
Exposed coal and iron on the west side of that tunnel!

For anyone who likes spelunking, I've found what looks to be an ENORMOUS cave system with at least one dungeon. This thing is perhaps the biggest labyrinth of caves I've seen yet. It at times resembles more of a sponge than actual tunnels. Found multiple ways down to the lava lakes (diamonds, yay!), at which point I gave up exploring as I had run out of torches, was completely lost and had just enough of a pickaxe to dig myself an escape route to the surface. And I hadn't even attempted to go down any of the many side side tunnels.
I used around 384 torches to light the cave so I could see - not enough to prevent monsters from spawning though.
A few highlights of the system:
The dungeon coords are:
X: 181
Y: 52
Z: -1120
Sadly, it's pretty far from the general spawn area. Near the coords I'm giving, you'll be on a somewhat barren, rough plain. All around the area are exposed cave entrances - most of them lead to the labyrinth if they go deep enough, but I've found the best entrance to be at:
X: 213
Z: -1219
If you go, I'd advise you to bring tons of wood (you'll find plenty of coal to make torches on the fly) and/or ladders. There are some pretty steep drops that lead to lower levels.
And as I've not really explored it fully, I make no claims to naming it. =)

Thank you! And for all your work on the map! It's been a huge help.
I have been running this seed on my server pretty awesome place, thanks to everyone who has been making maps and sharing locations it's fun to send out teams to explore the dungeons and areas.
here is a few screenshots of our main hangout area:
The spawn point with station and bunker
That large overhang near el pumpkin
This is the main house with a few rooms, kitchen, common area and basement/mine area, wheat and reed farms to the right and undersea tunnel to the scorched plains where I have plans to build a castle town. To the right under the waterfall, is the main mine shaft.
One of the mobtraps, this one is pretty good using a natural over hang. (I pumped up the brightness)
And finally caught these guys playing round the cacti outside the house, they like them some cake
great map!
here are some of the things i've found:
1/5 of all the skeletons chasing me when i spawned :S
another picture of it
and a third!
overall this map is amazing all the overhangs i have found
to MadMaxxHH!
You need some Lord of the Rings music to go with that epic skelly battle :biggrin.gif:
From the spawn, there is an amazing formation to the south east. I think it was a thousand or more distance out, I'm not sure.

Where are you talking about, because I have huge trouble finding diamond and gold ore on this map. -EDIT- I'M SO SORRY FOR THE DOUBLE POST AFTER THIS ONE! I SWEAR I DIDN'T MEAN TO!
