Can someone tell me the weak point or what i've done wrong with my farm?
In case the angle I took the pic at confuses you, there's no way possible for my character to jump the fence. The only way I can get in is the door, yet I came back from gathering sand and there was a cow inside.
When I was first building the farm I had to remodel it a few times due to animals being able to jump in, but now I honestly can't see how they can.
It's not a huge deal, i'm just sick of animals trampling all of my crops.
Expanding the farm is really all i've done on the world today.
I'm also in the middle of adding a guard tower/bedroom (you can see it sticking up from my house.)
So I decided to make a straight shot across the world and see what I could discover. Found some interesting things..
View from afar. It's a natural giant pillar with a large tree on the very tip. Oh, and a lava flow w/ natural infinite cobblestone. AND a nice, vast ocean + a nice small island on the right.
Coordinates:
Walking up around the pillar, natural waterfall on it as well.
View from atop the pillar, right next to the tree.
Same view, coordinates:
If it's not already found/named, I'd like this area to be called Procerus Culmen, meaning "Tall Pillar" in Latin.

Farms work best in-doors with a glass roof, or just make it a glass building (greenhouse..?)
EDIT:
If it's completely enclosed then animals won't be able to get in.
Thanks StarDot, your maps are great and I love how you gave them names and such. I'll make sure to put it in the first post. Could you possibly map an isometric version of it? I really like how isometric renders look. Also, if you could put all the descriptions for the map locations in one post, that would be great. :smile.gif:
I can, but isometric images a) take a lot longer to render, and :cool.gif: are a much larger file size, which some image hosting sites may not support, so I don't want to make a new one every time I explore. I work off of the flat map to find the coordinates because it is a 1:1 ratio from the spawnpoint. It's a bit trickier to do that from an iso view.
I have an older render of this world on iso. I'm going to upload that for now. Feel free to use it for any promotion of this project. Nevermind. The hosting site is having errors again. I'll upload it later.

I went to Forbidden Zone and wasn't disappointed. StarDots description for the location is great too, because it really does looks like a mountain was mined out and then exploded:

I also found a mushroom on top of a rock. Is that supposed to happen?
I've found things like that too. Mushrooms spawned on sand. It was nighttime, though. Maybe they all die in the morning?
Anyhoozle, here is the latest map, PLUS a full collection of all named locations! (with the person who found it and/or who it was named after in parenthesis) I would reccomend updating the first post with this info.
Spawn Beach - The location where most people tend to spawn. I mentioned this name before, but now it's namesd on the map. (StarDotJPG)
SQUID BAY - I found a bunch of Squid spawned there. It was probably just a matter of timing, but things have been named for worse reasons. (StarDotJPG)
VAST DESERT - Poor name, I know. But it is a rather large desert area. (StarDotJPG)
ICERIKE - Pretty self-explanatory. It is an area of land covered by ice, and the name Iceland already existed IRL. (StarDotJPG)
Blaecofa - Means "Black Cove" in Old English. I found a deep cave here, if I recorded my coordinates correctly. It can't be seen on the map. (StarDotJPG) Ettinwood - Ettin is an archaic term meaning "giant." There aren't many trees here, but most of them are the big trees. (StarDotJPG) Geolubostma Plains - Means "Yellowblossom" in Old English. Found a ton of dandylions on a flat plain. *shrug* (StarDotJPG) Sandwall Isle - The sand here forms a wall with blocks of sandstone embedded within it. I named the island after the wall. (StarDotJPG) Pumpkin Peninsula - This peninsula once had pumpkins on it. Most people took them away already, but new players will be delighted to know where this is. (StarDotJPG) Mount Volcanor - This mountain is reminiscent of a volcano. (Nominate10) SABLUM DESERT - From Fr. "sable" and L. "sabulo," meaning "sand." Any questions? (StarDotJPG) Elrike - There is a tiny, L-shaped island down here. It's too small to be important, but I liked it, so I named it. (StarDotJPG)
Florida - Because it looks like Florida. (TheAnswer42)
*Florida Cavern - I would have been more specific where, but I am not sure where the entrance exactly is on the map. But it is pretty much under there. (TheAnswer42)
*Georgia - Northwest of Florida. Might as well, eh? (StarDotJPG)
EAST CENTRAL WOODS - They are woods... at the eastern-central area of the map. (TheAnswer42)
*Totem Prairie - A flatter area where a natural totem like structure sits in front of a big hill. (TheAnswer42)
DESERT ISLANDS - Chain of islands that are pretty much just sand. (TheAnswer42)
Heart Pond - Labeled the heart-shaped body of water mentioned earlier in this thread. (douglas0007) Magatama Pond - This pond has a shape similar to a magatama. (StarDotJPG) Danger Cave - Okay, it may not be the most dangerous place, but it sure makes you want to go check it out, eh? (StarDotJPG) Navineous Cave - The cave that Navineous found full of iron and coal. (Navineous)
STEEPFOOT DUNES - This inkblot-shaped desert can be very steep at places. (StarDotJPG)
Isle of Life - The name just struck me as appropriate. (StarDotJPG)
*Isle of Lime - A doppelganger just south of the Isle of Life. (StarDotJPG)
BONEBLISTER DESERT - A terrible event happened here, many moons ago. It is so named, because the event caused the victims bones to blister in the blast. (StarDotJPG)
*Forbidden Zone - It is said that this was once a great mountain, but the mountain-dwelling folk got greedy. They chopped down all the trees and and mined the mountain bare. In the husk of the mountain spawned a giant creeper, which exploded, wiping out all life around the desert. Everything died, and life has only begun to return. (StarDotJPG)
SWEETS PEAK - A giant snow-covered mountain. (SweetLeaf420)
*Sweets Overhang - A huge overhang off of Sweets Peak. (SweetLeaf420)
-----AND THE NEW ONES----- Oval Pond - It is a simple pond. It gets a simple name. (StarDotJPG) Hollow Hill - This hill is hollowed out. Is it due to greed? Let us hope it does not become a new Forbidden Zone. (StarDotJPG) Dragonden - This cavern looks like it could house a dragon. Be careful in there! (StarDotJPG)
LAKE CYAN - In the real world, this would probably only be considered big enough to be a pond, but I'm going to make a call. This is large enough to be called a lake in Minecraft. We aren't going to find a body of water square kilometers large. Go check it out. (StarDotJPG)
*Cerulean Falls - Pretty waterfall near a cave. (StarDotJPG)
*Base Cave - This cave is a cozy little spot. As soon as beds set the spawn point, it will be worth making a base here. (StarDotJPG)
*Falls Tunnel - A second waterfall stands here, but behind it hides a tunnel through the mountain. (StarDotJPG)
*Flying Spire - What is this I don't even... (StarDotJPG)
Sandcliff - It is a small patch of sandy cliffside. (StarDotJPG)
Snowhaven Glade - The trees thin away in this clearing, mysteriously untouched by the snow surrounding the woods. (StarDotJPG)
YOU MISSED A SPOT - Nothing to see here. Move along... (I actually just never got close enough for those chunks to load. Oops.)
I'm pretty sure that's everything so far. In the next update, the island KillerPopsicles inhabited will be named Popsicle Island (unless he wants it named otherwise.)
I will also add Procerus Culmen (discovered by Kyle) if I can find it. I believe those coordinates point eastward, which is largely unexplored. (On the map I'm keeping anyway.)
The sun was rising to my right and setting to my left the entire time I walked. And I left from the spawn, so if that helps you at all!
Ah. You were going north!
I got my coordinate directions mixed up. Thank you for the clarification. I would have gone off in completely the wrong direction!
On an unrelated note, has anyone created a portal to the nether yet? It would be really difficult to map, due to the enclosed nature of the Nether, but I'd like to know if everyone gets the same one. Also, how do coordinates work? Is it relative to the place the portal is created, or does it all refer back to the coordinates of the "real world" divided by eight? I'm leaving my world untouched, so I can't really go mining for diamond to get some obsidian, so if someone else could test this out, it'd be appreciated.
Jesus there is an obscene amount of coal on this map.
Would it be possible for someone to mark where clay is on the map? I ended up losing all that I had collected from two spots after a rather unpleasant series of failures.
Here's my list of clay deposits:
(-600, 64, 224) CLAY!
(-768, 64, 224) MOAR CLAY!
(261, 69, 48) Clay.
(-16, 64, 672) CLAAAY!
(32, 64, 656) CLAY, CLAY, CLAY!
(96, 64, 624) A bit o' clay.
(304, 64, 800) Did somebody say CLAY?
(400, 64, 912) Some clay achin' to be dug up.
(64, 64, 56) Land of the free and the home of the CLAY!

diamond at:x:46 y:12 z:-99
and jackpot near: x:51 y:12 z:97(many coal. redstone, some iron and a lake near by [underground lake is ABOVE those coords])
for reach that i recomend mining East from: X:51 Y:67 Z:-42 (where i made my shelter)
Awesome contributions and pictures so far everyone! I am going to do some more exploring in just a few minutes, but first I figured I would post the coords for the diamond that I have found so far.
2 veins for 6 diamond total
4 diamonds total - (119, 12, -18)
2 diamonds total - (37, 12, -8)
Goddammit, I was in Florida Caves and was trying to plug a lavafall, and died with reeds and 49 iron, and more diamonds that I didn't have the pick for so I wanted to go get, but then I couldn't get back. my life (creeper means **** in my interpretation)

So, I'll have to start all over again.
Cheers.

I'm not really sure why.
I guess it's partially because I thought it was extremely ugly.
I did move all of my chests and items out first, so i'm not starting fresh.
Now I can finally explore some of these places you guys have discovered and make one of them my home.
