This is my first homemade redstone mechanism. The main idea of the trap is that of a landmine or a dead man's switch. You step on the tripwire but the trap is not triggered until you step off of the tripwire.
Included in the map is the visualization of the trap setup, and next to it an actual trap using the Dead Man's Switch.

There's no proper reason to be an ass, though. Calling people idiots and being a general **** is, while fun and therapeutic, not a very world-centric philosophical expression. The world revolves around seven billion people, and only one of them is Magix.
Anyway... congrats on your first home-made redstone thingy. I don't really have much of a use for it, but someone might - and you're not an idiot; just a newbie to redstone, perhaps.
The way you went about doing this is pretty cool, for a first contraption I've got to say.
There's a simpler way though, just hook up one side to a pulse limiter, the one that lets off a pulse only when you turn off the input. same thing, 1 small component.
I built a simpler version using a RS NOR Latch, an inverter, and an AND gate. When someone activates one wire it trips both the latch and the inverter then when they step off the inverter resets and the and gate triggers

Cool. I havnt done much with redstone so i went with what i knew. That will help me though.
