I thought I'd put 4 pressure plates on the viewing deck, and wire them to one of the input areas(Haven't decided which), that ways, you can stand in-between 2 of them(2 per player) and then, control the movement of the paddle.
that might work, but i recomend you start basic.
and, that might be very slow.
That would mean 1600x1200 pistons. Last I checked, there is a height limit in minecraft.

Making a video game mod for minecraft. Going great. The idea? blocks when clicked open up a minigame that rewards you with ores and such based on your ingame score. Almost finished with beta version, which features a very basic pong game.
Pretty sure its not just the RDF hating on this thing. I may be a member of the RDF but I do not represent them with anything that I have said, though I have not talked to one person that thinks this thing is anything short of abysmal outside of the misinformed comments in this thread. I have seen many negative comments from both players in and not in the RDF. Being in the RDF has nothing to do with how bad I think this thing is, I can promise you if I wasn't, I would be here saying the same things.
You claim this is the most powerful CPU in terms of functions:
False. This machine runs with an ALU that I would expect to find in a "my first ALU!" thread. There are no dedicated circuits, you have Adders, XORs, AND gates, and a whole lot of nothing. You have to run several opcodes over several clock cycles to do what other machines can do in one clock cycle. And you have NO random number generation. Salaja's CPU, built ages before yours, was ten times as advanced as this.
You claim that this CPU is a gaming CPU and can run games:
False. Your clock cycle is almost a third of a minute because your have a crappy, horizontal layout with throuands of repeaters on every bus. Nothing is placed where it needs to be, and everything is almost perfectly flat, barely fitting in the chunk limit and using hundreds of repeaters, inducing massive delays, just to bus everything together.
You claim that you have the only proper GPU in minecraft:
False. I just built one so that I can edit existing 8 byte pictures and send them over our network. I have also seen tons of other "GPU's" on youtube that do the same exact thing. You have not built the only proper GPU, because every other GPU that has been built, and there have been many, do the exact same thing.
You make false claims, bump your own threads to get attention, delete negative comments off your youtube.
The most impressive part of your CPU is the serial 7 seg. And you didn't build it. In fact, you didn't give credit for using it either, until I called you out on it because you had this big long elitist disclaimer in your post talking about how nobody can use your work, and there you were using someone elses. So you went back and edited one of your earliest replies to give credit and not look like an idiot, because you can't delete a reply from here like you can on your youtube video. Yea, that's right, you have been mass deleting all negative feedback from the youtube comments. Who does that? If you really deserved Digital Diamond, there wouldn't be negative comments for you to try and hide.
I'm sorry you can't handle the criticism and it hurts your feelings. But if you didn't make subjective and untrue comments about how good your designs are, and had a little more modesty, I wouldn't be here to correct you.
you maaaaad cuz ur internet didnt get DD ?
Thats funny.
1: It's not my internet. It is OUR internet, us being the RDF, with the chief designers of the router being iDeNoh and I, but many others contributed.
2: It's not done, so we didn't submit it to the videos section, because we aren't douches that try and get DD with a flyby of huge amounts of redstone and tons of "I built a dirt house" comments without actually demonstrating it. We will submit it when we have it actually doing something (which will be soon,) so we don't look like Dudearent. The community deserves to actually see something in action. They do not deserve to be overpowered with terminology they don't understand, the false appearance of complexy by offering no proper explanation and simply showing off the magnitude of the wiring, and demands for attention.
3: Regarding the above, your statement now looks pretty stupid, along with all the rest of the ball cupping you have done in this thread.
I can also promise you this. The serial buffer used in our router is ten times more impressive than this basic entry level redstone cpu, on its own, without the rest of the router. It REALLY is the first of its kind, built by iDeNoh, and it allows serial data from multiple sources to hit the same device input at the same time with no corruption, making proper serial transmittion of data possible for the first time in minecraft. Nothing, not one single part of this CPU is new or innovative, and every single part has been made better, smaller, faster and been used in other CPU's before.

again your showing off :dry.gif: your as douchier as him
Dude has joined the RDF and I have spoken with him in person, and he is really a nice guy, contrary to what I thought.
I am sure his CPU can run games I am sure and is the first to be documented that has an attached GPU, it does work as he has shown in his video, and he will give me a tour of it soon.
It is impressive, as I have said before, as even the most basic CPU requires know how and practice to make. I was combating the claims that it is the most powerful and best, and I overreacted to the large amount of praise for things I believed to be untrue, and I still feel as if it was falsely advertised as the best. That remains to be seen, once I see a tour of it, but Dudearent has stated here that he agrees it may not be the best, demonstrating humility. So I may see him demonstrate this thing and completely change my opinion and report back that it is groundbreaking, but the statement that he has now told me "this may not be the best designed CPU, but it is one step closer to playing games" is one that I completely agree with and I feel is accurate, but more than anything it shows that he took the first step to resolving our argument which is praiseworthy.
The point is, it runs, it may not be the best, but he did advertise it well and it got him digital diamond, and it is the first documented that I have seen where a GPU and a CPU have been attached to each other and functioning, despite GPUs and CPUs having been made several times. I fall victim to the Greater Internet Douchewad Theory just as anyone else does, but after meeting Dudearent I have apologized for being overly critical, and I renounce many of my former statements. It was also unfair of me to judge the work so critically when I have not had extensive experience with the machine, and had only toured it myself without his guidance.
But mad cow, your posts aren't helping your case at all...
Oh, and Dudearent, all differences aside, glad to have you on the server. You proved from the start that you do know what you are doing and I know you will contribute some amazing things to our great community.
Finally! 8-page long arguing is stopped! To celebrate this, I'm going to join RDF.
EDIT: I can't join RDF. When I try to register on RDF forums, it says that my 40-character-long password is too simple!

Not entirely happy with the sloppiness of it, you should refine your products for longer instead of revising it later. However based on elseagoats recent comment it seems that it actually runs rather well, so I guess it is pretty good. No matter if it isn't completely utterly awesome, it's still a step forward.
About the cpu itself - how does the RAM/ROM work? The manual was rather useless and I can't figure it out.
And madcow - are you trying to look so stupid? Come on.
Hey, I was bored, so I made you a couple sigs for the computer... only took me like 2 mins, so no big deal.

No offense or anything, but that was one hell of a turnaround :tongue.gif:
It was a HUGE turn around. My opinions of you elsagoat did go up more than a slightly significant amount. You did put up some good arguements. But I do believe that this arguement will help reduce future haters(I guarantee it won't eliminate them), simply because someone who protested so strongly suddenly had a change in oppinion after seeing a little more of whats under the hood.
Also, I would like to know, when you are updating the number counter, how do you update it to a number stored in the RAM?

I think you should put in some sort of program menu thing that allows you to choose what program to run, that would be a cool thing to add in
That would probably be more something that would have to be programmed in, which is to say, you would make it all 1 program, with multiple sub programs, and it would work that way, however, it would also make it even more limited on what your programs could be, with there being merely 60 commands, and it would also slow stuff down a bit.
Although it's a cool idea, without massive changes in the computer, you couldn't really have it effectively do what you are talking about. It would be nice to see him add multiple separate "program memory" areas, and switches and levers to direct the computer to a certain program.

Yay, I made my first program with your computer! It's amazing it does all sorts of stuff, as long as that stuff only involves displaying the number from the user input below the number display.
So yeah... If you caught my little joke there, all it does is display the number you entered in the 10bit user input. But it means I have it pretty much figured out how the system works, and how the commands interact, and things as such, and now, bigger projects will be much easier.
Next, I'll make a 4x4 box that goes horizontally across the screen, in solid, or hollow, depending on a switch. That wayz I know how to use the GPU right. After that, I just need to design a game of pong... Hopefully it won't be too hard... (Sadly, I am willing to bet It'll pose more than one problems for me...)
My program - Note the user input below is set to 1000000001, or 513. It does function as a binary to decimal converter.

After that, I just need to design a game of pong... Hopefully it won't be too hard... (Sadly, I am willing to bet It'll pose more than one problems for me...)
My program - Note the user input below is set to 1000000001, or 513. It does function as a binary to decimal converter.
