I have never bothered to take a proper dip into world generation aside making a small handful of custom dimensions back in 1.16. Recently, I've been looking to make a small change to default world generation in order to grant an effect of permanent darkness to a world, so I'd like to see if this is possible via datapacks or commands.
What I'm looking for is a simple, static world generation change in 1.19. At the very top of the world is a single, flat layer of bedrock, obscuring the sky, and below that is a single layer of black concrete, giving the impression of an eternally black sky. I would like this to generate across the entirety of the standard overworld with no other changes. Is there any way for me to do this? All replies are appreciated, and thank you in advance!
You could just do this
/execute at @e run fill ~10 319 ~10 ~-10 319 ~-10 bedrock
/execute at @e run fill ~10 318 ~10 ~-10 318 ~-10 black_concrete
(You can change the 10 to something bigger to fill bigger area i don't know how big area can you fill by changing those)
And this would fill area on world height at all entities.
