Hi! Is there any way or tutorial to make randomly generated Dungeon, like from game The Binding of Isaac? I watched some tutorials where are used Structure Blocks and Armor Stands, but that was not exactly what I've been looking for, because I wanted this generator to use the base of already built by me 10x10 blocks rooms (something like on the screenshot below which I've made from one tutorial in Unity).
I know Structures Blocks are too complicated to describe them in one post but I you know any sensible tutorial to solve my problem I would be really grateful for linking them under this thread :3
In my own experience I havent been able to make Jigsaw blocks work and i have gone to using structure blocks and armor stands in the past. it can be complicated at first but because all your rooms are the same shape and size it shouldnt be as hard as other custom generations. If you are working on a server i would be happy to show you the ropes. If its offline then as you said it can be a bit hard to explain over chat...
I was going to make a Dungeon Generator tutorial on the Official Minecraft wiki but after the wiki mods removed all my wiki pages I decided no to do that since It would be a waste of time.
I made both a Armor Stand Dungeon Generator (Pyramid on the left) and a Structure Block Dungeon Generator (Fortress on the right). Tutorials out there on how to do this are all pretty much obsolete in terms functionality. Your best bet is to dig in the forums and find threads with my name on them and get a feel as to what I was able to accomplish and some of the bugs I discovered because I'm the only one that was going hard at it after the update and posting my results.
I've been working on something similar which will generate a full village paths and all following the land This is a screenshot of the layout before I confirm if I'm happy with what has generate or if I want to change it
Ive also been working on a dungeon generator that will be an adventure map but thats still early in development
Hey that looks neat but I wonder just how well does your village generator will mold itself to the naturally generated terrain?
I personally don't like the thought of having to create all the land around the village unless certain portions of it is feature of the build process itself then that would be acceptable. Other then that I prefer to have my build gens to be as simple as possible while complex in design.
For example the pyramid build is representative towards what you can do with the Maze Generator video up above. Its basically a scaled up version of it with more build philosophy incorporated with in it that allows it to build vertically and much more... All you need to do to build the pyramid is place down one armor stand where ever you want and run the pyramid build command and in that instance the pyramid from start to finish begins to build randomly, meaning no two pyramids are never truly alike one another.
Well I won't post any pictures of it post generation yet as it is being used on a server still under development but as you can see in the earlier picture all of the Paths/ Structure spaces are all in the air and once I'm happy with the layout I click a button and each one has its own relative armor stand e.g. Main_Path_XP (X positive) etc which will then fall to the ground and load the structure relative to the landscape. Yes its not perfect but when you look at how some natural villages generate its not an uncommon struggle
Mind you for dungeon generating this wouldnt work so well as you need the rooms to line up and especially if they have different levels you dont want them overlapping one another unless the dungeon goes up not down.
Back to the village generator though, you mentioned not worrying about the landscape unless it works with the village and that is completely possible too as i can set borders and boundaries for where it can and cant randomly generate. So if there was a river running through the middle the generator wouldnt try to put a house or path there
Also with the houses all of them are simple and small at first but they all have structure blocks in them that you can use to extend the house in various ways giving you many possible frames to then customize.
Ill keep you posted as it develops when I can post photos of that side of things
Update: I've begun work on my own personal generation/adventure map project and here is a snipit of the halls generating perfectly All I need to do now is make rooms and add to it. Essentially the command side is mostly copy and paste now

I'm pretty sure you need jigsaw blocks for this.
Worldgen is not my department, so I cant really help

Other than chatting the video I referred to before is this one but this is for 1.9 so you'll need to rewrite all the commands to match the new version
P.s. Sorry I meant to post this is your more recent post... Ill put it there as well so disregard this one...
