So I made a command that plays a sound whenever you click on a certain named armor stand and displays text in chat and the command works perfectly fine in creative mode but when I try it in survival mode the sound doesn't play also the effect command doesn't work in survival mode either. The command basically makes a medkit that restores your heatlh when you "right click" on it (because you're right clicking on the armor stand)
The commands i'm using are: /execute @e[type=ArmorStand,name=st] ~ ~ ~ /playsound block.brewing_stand.brew ambient @a[r=1]

Well when is the armor stand summoned? maybe it's just not summoned... Can you tell what system you're using?

Yeah the armor stand is summoned I'm using /testfor @e[type=armor_stand,name=st] {ArmorItems:[{id:minecraft:skull,Count:1,Damage:3s,tag:{display:{LocName:"Medkit"},SkullOwner:{Id:<the skull owner of the head>}}}]} in a repeating unconditional always active command block and then I have chain command blocks connected to it
chain command block 1: /execute @e[type=armor_stand,name=st] ~ ~ ~ /tellraw @a[r=3] {"text":"You used a medkit","color":"dark_blue"} (works in creative and survival)
chain command block 2: /entitydata @e[type=armor_stand,name=st] {ArmorItems:[{},{},{},{}]} (works in creative and survival)
chain command block 3: /execute @e[type=armor_stand,name=st] ~ ~ ~ /clear @a[r=1] minecraft:skull (works in creative and survival)
chain command block 4: /execute @e[type=armor_stand,name=st] ~ ~ ~ effect @a[r=1] minecraft:instant_health 1 1 (works in creative but not survival)
chain command block 5: /execute @e[type=armor_stand,name=st ~ ~~ playsound block.brewing_stand.brew ambient @a[r=1] (works in creative but not survival)
Edit: also i'm using a presummoned armor stand so I summoned the armor stand before I wrote all the commands.
Your 3rd command clears the skull of the player. The difference between creative and survival is when you place a head on an armor stand, you keep it in creative, but not survival.
You could replace the 3rd command by "/execute @e[type=armor_stand,name=st] ~ ~ ~ /clear @a[r=1,m=1] minecraft:skull" but you'll have to set the 4th command block on unconditionnal
I guess you were using only chain-conditional command blocks. If you do, it should works fine after making the change...

Ok so I tried everything you said to do and it seems to not work still. I have a command: /testfor @a {SelectedItem:{id:skull,Count:1b,Damage:3s,tag:{display:{LocName"Medkit"},SkullOwner:{Id:<the id of the skull owner>}}}}
The problem I'm having now is whenever I select the item the sound goes crazy and plays like a gazillion times lol (this is when I set it to unconditional)
Edit: IDK if this is a bug or something or it has to do with me being on a server but the sound doesn't play in survival at ALL even when the command block is unconditional pretty weird!
yet when I do the /playsound command in chat in survival mode it works just fine
So as you probably don't need this system to work in creative, I guess you'll be better to simply remove the "execute @e[type=armor_stand,name=st] ~ ~ ~ /clear @a[r=1] minecraft:skull" from the system

Try removing the slash at "~ ~ ~ /playsound"

I think I know your problem :
