I'm coming back to Minecraft after being away for a few versions, and the first thing I noticed is that many of the commands and command-based mechanics I used no longer function, often at all. I've gone through the wiki and tried to sort it out but there isn't enough information there to diagnose what's wrong, and the in-game helpers aren't helping at all.
My main concern is a 'book' that I used for all kinds of things such as teleportation and game management. It won't even let me spawn one anymore. I'll include the text here:
I was able to figure out that the quantity now goes after the NBT when giving items, but then the /n line break isn't working anymore? Not to mention I can't summon or teleport to named armor stands.
What I really want right now is the general book format and teleporting to named entities. I've grown fond of this book and would rather not have to start over. Any guidance would be appreciated, or even just some sample code to work from.
I figured out that the linebreak needs an extra slash now, so "//n" works, and I updated the names such as "armor_stand" instead of "ArmorStand".
I edited the text accordingly. The book now spawns and opens, but the teleportation is still broken, and I can't summon armor stands with CustomName tags. They will spawn with Name, but it doesn't do anything.
And as for teleportation, you need to specify "limit=1" in the target selectors now. The error message just shrugs its shoulders at you but it looks like it no longer assumes one/nearest target for commands that can only actually target one thing. What a pain.
with three backslashes before the internal quotes so that it won't throw up pointless errors. But then it removes all three of them, making it throw up errors when the command is actually clicked from the book.
Is this a bug? How can I get it to format properly? Add more backslashes?
Edit: yes, more backslashes. If anyone wants the working teleport book code, I'll post it here:

Okay wow it's a lot more needlessly complicated now, but I think I've figured it out.
CustomName isn't just a simple string anymore, it's in the format of
so to set the CustomName of my armor stand (and be able to see it for testing purposes), I needed to do
It used to be so much easier.

Anyway, credit to this post and this bug report for helping me figure that out.
But now we're back to the book format, because in order for the command block to process it, the line needs to look like this:
with three backslashes before the internal quotes so that it won't throw up pointless errors. But then it removes all three of them, making it throw up errors when the command is actually clicked from the book.
