Can you explain a little bit more? Do you want to detect when a player is looking in a specific direction?
when the player is looking towards positive z (south) the y_rotation is 0. when looking at negative x, it's 90, negative z is 180, positive x is 270 and a full circle back to positive z is 360 degrees.
So, by that logic:
/execute as @a[y_rotation=0..90] run ... for looking between south-west
/execute as @a[y_rotation=90..180] run ... for looking between west-north
/execute as @a[y_rotation=180..270] run ... for looking between north-east
/execute as @a[y_rotation=270..360] run ... for looking between east-south
