I'm trying to create a structure that teleports the player 100,000 blocks in the specified direction (by pushing a button on one of its four pillars). This involves a chain of:
Test for a Diamond Block with clear/0
Remove one Diamond block with clear/1
Teleport the player 100,000 blocks relative to their current position
Recreate the structure using relative coordinates.
The problem I keep slamming into (I've tried switching items 3 and 4), is, "that position is not loaded". I thought having the player teleport there first would alleviate this, but I suppose not. Can this be solved with a simple repeater delay? Or will some other commands be needed? The presumed compactness of this had me hiding everything inside 3x3 Bedrock pillars, so I think I'd actually prefer the latter.

GENERATION 24: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.
You could use /forceload with your relative coordinates. So you would need to first /forceload in the direction that is selected and then do all of your other commands. Hope this helps.
While I appreciate the thought, /forceload cannot be run from a Command Block according to the wiki (which I asssume cannot be subverted via /execute).
I have in mind a couple of workarounds:
spawning in a "dummy" item that acts as a "token" to spawn the structure around the player (and then be removed). This is kinda hacky, and relies both on a command block outside the structure proper and on the player's inventory not being full.
Some sort of scoreboard wizardry. The main "problem" with this is my lack of experience with the scoreboard, and I believe it still requires out-of-structure command blocks.
The idea here is something completely operable by a survival-mode player, so having said player enter /forceload themself goes against the idea too.
