As you all know in 18w05 u cant do {CustomName:"NAME"} U need To change it to a longer command
Now why has microsoft done this? I can guess 2 reasons for this:
1) They wanted (microsoft + mojang) To add more capabilities into this game
2) They are only testing to see how it will end out to be
If thats not a satisfying answer ask them.
Now lets go on with the Tutorial!
Basics : {CustomName:"{}"} The "{}" is to Identify the CustomName NBT so it can be used like this {CustomName:"{}",NoAI:1}
After u created the shell u can do the name itself with no colours/colors {CustomName:"{\"text\":\"NAME\"}"} It may seem hard but just replace the old
" with \"
Colours/Colors : {CustomName:"{\"text\":\"NAME\",\"color\":\"COLOR\"}"} The colours/colors are : black dark_blue dark_green
dark_aqua dark_red dark_purple gold gray dark_gray blue green aqua red light_purple yellow white
Styles & Look : {CustomName:"{\"text\":\"NAME\",\"Style\":\"true/false\"}"} All of the style / looks are : bold italic underlined strikethrough obfuscated

Because the names are now JSON, and they have to escape the quotes. This way is more useful. This tutorial is also useful
